Color Change

What do you do when you see a doll you really like but, can't find her or afford the one you do find?  You make her. On my way to getting the doll I want. My first attempt at customization. So far so good.  Now where did I put her eyes?

  • fantastic pic! Ayofemi, what type of paint do you use? and how do you manage for the joints? as they are moving parts , I suppose that they stay light color
I dream about customizing but I still has cold feet :(
    • I used Krylon for plastics. Her joints are rubbing off but I'm hoping I can touch her up and then apply a sealant and then the paint won't rub off on her joints.
    • thanks, I am not ready for this yet , it's a very big step for me. but I need more colored girls ...such a dilemma :)
    • I know how you feel. I have been searching all over for other ways and ideas to do this. I finally just decided to jump in and try it. I have a nice selection of thrift store dolls to practice on. I think I will try it on a boy doll next.
    • keep us inform of your work and "doll improvement" you are definitely more brave than me :)
  • I am right there with you... I started working on MH dolls because I saw one I wanted and couldn't have her... so I am, also, trying my hand at customizing! I never thought of spray painting the entire doll... oh, the possibilities are endless!! Anxious to see what you do with her!
  • It is kinda weird huh? I just looked at it again and it looks like she was hung and her head placed on a spike. Too funny!
  • Hehehehe!! This is sooo funy!! But a great idea my dear.
