Fashion Doll Forum

I was inspired by Kenneth Ray's suggestion that we all get together and a have a picnic with our dolls. I know that would be impossible in real life, but when has that ever stopped any of us? I propose an imaginary picnic, with all the members of Doll Observers and and one doll to represent each. As a beach in the south of France would be agreeable to most, I propose we imagine it there. All you have to do is introduce yourself and your doll of choice, and either post a picture of your doll or a description. You are all invited to bring an imaginary dish so that there is plenty of imaginary food to go round.

Let the picnic begin!

Welcome, Kenneth and Marina! I have never had Japanese pizza, but I never met a pizza I didn't like! ;) I love Marina's punk-rock look, And Andrea says that Marina can feel the baby kick, if she would like. The baby likes to dance an Irish jig after dinner, she has already inherited her parents' love for music, and Andrea plans to serenade us on her violin at sunset!

(I love these earrings too, I happened upon them in a little boutique the day after I bought that shirt, they were obviously meant for me;)

  •  yes I do love this too  and I was so disappointed by Narnia, I loved the book so much, but was not impressed at al by the movie, (may be I will have to read the book again to erase this bad feeling) it looks "cheaps" and  the actors were mediocre
I am almost done with Inkheart and I lo love it until the end (so bad they made only one movie with this!)

I just love it when that happens! sometimes, you read a book and get all excited about the movie, and it doesn't nearly live up to your imagination. LOTR surpassed my imagination, which is not an easy thing to do! Everything was perfect. I am happy to say that the Harry Potter movies lived up to my imagination, I bawled all the way through DH2, TWICE! Actually, come to think of it, I have never made it through an entire HP movie or book tearless. I'm such a sucker for that kind of thing, and they're just SO GOOD!

and I still cry each time I see this movie!!

I think that everything in the LOR movie was exceptionally well done, from the decor to the outfits and jewelry I never fin yet anything disappointing in it.

it was so much what I expected when reading the books. I read the books another time since , I discovered them in French, and read them twice in this language, as I wanted to be sure to grasp every little bit of it twice I cry when I finished it .I lean English (around my 35) then I saw the movie in English, I wanted to read it in the original language as well, and I "saw"the personage as they were in the movie. It was quite a new experience. Beautiful

I have that exact same ring, only the crystal is not worn out, and I also have the "Evenstar " necklace! Alan Lee (The conceptual designer for LOTR) is such a genius! And you know I love my Captain Jack. I've been in love with Johnny Depp since I was 11. I fell head over heels for Edward Scissorhands!

  • Don't you wish there was a book on how to speak "Elvish'? It's an entire language that Tolkein made up by himself! Oh, how I admire that man....

  • You should definitely check it out, Although it is a written for children, it deals with some very adult themes. Death, illness and love all play a major part. Not to mention the descriptive passages leave you breathless... OK, I've convinced myself. I've got to go read it again now...:)

    Hello Mary Beth,

I hadn't heard of The Silver Pencil until you mentioned.  I checked it on Amazon and it is available.  I  might check it out.

We'd both love to explore the canyons of Arizona.  Finding unexplored territory is very exciting!

Ah, veggie soup! Yes, please! I read a book set in Trinidad when I was very young, it was called The Silver Pencil, and it shaped my tastes in architecture and design, do you know it? I admire Lara's tree climbing prowess, she should try rock- climbing in the canyons of Arizona, very beautiful country there, and exciting, challenging terrain as well. You can even find places that have never been seen by human eyes!

Hello.  My name is Leonella and Lara and I have travelled all the way from Trinidad & Tobago to be here.  We brought a big tureen of clear vegetable soup with us and are anxious to share it.  We are so happy to meet you all.

Lara is very active and fit.  She climbed this tree just to show off her skills.

    Would you like some?
