The Cancer pt. Barbie

I was just wondering if any one had heard about a group trying to get a barbie with no hair. The group is trying to get a barbie that looks like she is undergoing chemo treatments. They believe it would help little girls if there doll looked like them. Any one have any thoughts on the issue?

  • Yes, I've seen this on FB and although I give them my symphony.  I think this is just a bit much to ask.  We all have health problems and I have personally known children with uncurable diseases and my heart goes out to them.  However, a doll is a toy, a fantasy item to project yourself in a world that is without hubris that you encounter in your everyday life.  I'm not sure it is even wanted.  Look at Share a Smile Becky!  Whatever became of her?....... They want a hairless, go grab a pair of scissors............

  • What about the Liv dolls?

  • So Hasbro has anounced they will create a bald GI Joe for the same cause as the bald Barbie?

People were looking for a bald Barbie and Ken or GI joe doll. Many little boys prefer bald GI joe.

  • I'm sorry but I don't see what GI Joe has to do with a bald Barbie that will help children with cancer....

Hasbro just anounced they will be creating 2 GI joe dolls this year, I believe Mattel will do the same at some point.

  • Like someone said on FB: this is not an answer. It's a "look what we have done" list. Nobody says they haven't done a lot but this was very, very important. They want to make Kardashian Barbies but can't make a bald Barbie for children suffering from cancer?? So wrong.
