Last year we had a lot of fun at an imaginary picnic. I propose another imaginary picnic, with all the members of Doll Observers and and one doll to represent each. Last year our imaginary destination was a beach in the south of France. This year, let's imagine it by the Pool of Neptune in William Randolph Hearst's "Castle". All you have to do is introduce yourself and your doll of choice, and either post a picture of your doll or a description. You are all invited to bring an imaginary dish so that there is plenty of imaginary food to go round!

Hello, I'm Nilsa. I'm from the Republic of Panama and I'm living in San Antonio, Texas, USA.

I decided to bring some apple pie for the picnic. My doll is called Estefanía and is ready to jump in the pool.

Hi all, I'm Valerie. Originally from the green mountain state, Vermont, in the USA, I've been transplanted by marriage and have been living in Thailand for over 20 years...about half my life, give or take a few years. I'm a PhD student now, studying horticulture, and I do translating and editing part time, when I'm not playing with dolls.

How nice to be invited to the picnic at this wonderful location! I brought a refreshing salad made from palmelo (like grapefruit, but better) with shrimp, shallots and crispy coconut, and some lovely coconut ice cream.

I've brought along Emmilou

Hi andi and morgan, and welcome, and may I just say, everybody get into the cheese as fast as you can, and then GET OUT of MY WAY!

Hi everyone. I'm Leslie, and I live in New Jersey in the US. I have a corn allergy, so I can't sample a lot of the other food that is here, but I brought a delicious cold pasta salad, crisp oven-baked buffalo chicken wings, and ice cold iced tea with home grown mint.

My doll is Leah. Her boyfriend James is working tonight, so she decided to tag along with me. She loves the water as much as Prudence does!

Tea! (smacks forehead) How could any self-respecting southern girl forget the iced tea? Thank goodness you remembered it, Leslie! Leah is lovely, that's a great underwater shot, and love the bathing suit! Prudence is turning flips underwater in the deep end, and leah is free to join her. Don't worry about your allergy, I'm sure it doesn't apply to imaginary corn. It's just about ready but while we're waiting I'll put "The Boss" on the stereo in your honor.

Beautiful photos of Leah, Leslie.

Emmilou and I are enjoying all the delicious food and staying in the shade for now. We may venture into the pool later when the sun goes down.

omg! i totally forgot to post the new maxi dress i made for morgan to wear to the picnic!  great food everyone!!! (looks around...did we all forget the wine???)  this party calls for some sav blac!

Thank you. Leah loves to swim. I think I saw Leah and Prudence practicing some synchronized diving like they saw on the Olympics. lol

That's right, imaginary food doesn't have allergens or calories, either, does it? Yay! I'll have one of those pumpkin/chocolate chip/ginger cupcakes. :-)

Thank you! :-) Emmilou is fair-skinned like I am, so I understand the value of waiting until the sun goes down.

Wine! I can't believe I didn't think of that. My partner is a competition wine-maker. Leah would like to share a bottle of Red Zinfandel. She brought extra glasses:
