Barbie Basics

My huband just purchased one of the babrie basics dolls for me today and I would have to say that if you don't have one you should.  She has a model muse body, painted finger nails and does come with a coa.  The one he purchased for me has wounderful highlighted hair and I love the idea of each one having a different style "little black dress" on.  I also love the idea that if you get tired of her wearing the same black dress you can purchase one of the Barbie Basics accessorie pack add a belt, a purse and different shoes and WHALA, a totally different outfit.  She even has metal snaps on her dress instead of velcro, I myself have not see these on barbie clothes in years.  The only thing I do not like is her stand, she doesn't fit on it well but that doesn't stop me from buying the others in the collection.

Congratulations on your new doll and a fantastic review Gwen, thanks for sharing. I must say I do have my eye on the Barbie Basic dolls. I think they are one of the best series of Barbie dolls that Mattel has introduced in years. As you say the accessory packs are a great idea and I am a sucker for an accessory pack anyway lol!!

I know people are crazy about the Basics, but apart from the accessories, they do nothing for me... I've tried to look at them for a head swap with a Fashionistas-body but nah, can't find one I'd like enough. However, I'm looking forward to the new Red Basics line, the promo photos look promising. :)

Hello! My name is Denyse and I am new here. I do love the Barbie Basics - or is it that I just love the Model Muse body? Not sure, but it makes no difference. I have 2 of the basics dolls - a bit restyled, and will attempt to share a picture of them.

LOL. My husband and I think my Barbie collection is worth more then his guitars. The only comfort he has is if anything ever happens we could sell my Barbies and become millionaires! LOL, I get a kick out of it everytime!
