I have been shopping around and have finally decided to get a BJD. but I'm a bit thrown by Face-ups, I lack the natural talent and patience to do it myself and was wondering if anyone here does them or knows of anyone that does, preferably at a reasonable price?! please help!

Hi Mark,

I'm in the same boat as you but haven't made the jump yet. What I have seen though are BJDs sold with the faceup sold as an extra. Can't remember where though!

I claim to know next to nothing about BJDs, but I met a face-up artist and am now aquainted with her work.

She painted my two custom Monster High dolls that I bought at a local doll show.  While at the doll show, I asked a girl about the BJD she was holding, and during our conversation I discovered she was the artist responsible for my custom MH dolls.

Here is a link micaeverywhere.tumblr.com/

We are in Canada, I'm not sure where you are, but shipping is EZ.  I'm currently waiting on two more MH dolls I sent to the Netherlands for customizing

Good luck with your BJD adventures.  please post about them so that we may live vicariously through you

Hey, Mark...I'm reading this perhaps incorrectly, but it sounds as if you want to buy a BJD (go, you!) and have an artist do the face up?  Here's a couple that take commission work, and their skills are nothing short of amazing.

Leslie Wagner - Sands of Fire Dolls

Jon Copeland (aka Pinkman) - Seloj Spa

Dawn Anderson - One Sixth Sense

Emilia Nieminen - Emilia Couture http://www.emiliacouture.com/home/index.php?option=com_content&... (she's booked about a year in advance, because she's getting ready to release her OWN line of BJDs which are going to blow the top off the BJD world)

There's tons more, I just can't think of them right now.  Best of luck in your search, dolly Brother!
