My parents never gave away my dolls fortunately. They're hoarders haha, so even though they hated my obsession for Pam dolls, they never threw anything away. I'm so lucky! About a year ago, when my love for Pamela Love dolls suddenly came back, I found most of my dolls back in their attic. I was thrilled. I had even more than I thought and I could also have my sisters' old Pams, because they weren't interested at all. What a treasure!
I couldn't find their clothes and shoes though, which bothered me because I wanted to restore my collection to show them off in the 'dollhouse' (a bookcase with a roof on top lol) in my apartment, but my mom and dad have finally started cleaning out their attic (!!) and last week my mom called me telling me she'd found the bag of clothes! I have even more than I thought!! Unfortunately the clothes are extremely 'played-with' and I'm not sure if I can get them clean and pretty enough to show them, but hey, I'm happy :D. So really, I'm one of those success stories where nothing from my childhood got lost!! :D
whoa, how delicious !! to find back your treasures, even if they are not top perfect , please show us some or your clothes. were they original? or home made?
all the collector will be thrill to see them I am sur (I would hee hee)
Permalink Reply by Evelien on March 5, 2011 at 22:44 I'll be happy to show them in a while, even though they're not perfect. I'm working on my graduation right now, but as soon as I can, I'm going to redesign Pamela-Love.com and I'll take new, better pictures of my entire collection :D. Also I'll work on rerooting more Pams and making clothes, once I learn how to do that better...
Btw, I found back the originals AND the clothes I made myself, but I wasn't (and still am not) very good at making clothes haha, so those aren't worth showing. It's fun to see them back because of the memories, but I won't show those online ;)

Permalink Reply by Evelien on March 18, 2011 at 20:25 I have now posted pictures of the clothes I made in my childhood. They're in my 'Nostalgia' album :)
Original fashions will be coming soon. I've bought lots of new treasure lately haha, I'm gonna have to wash everything and sort stuff out before I put them on my models :)
Next week, I hope!
of course they are not perfect, but still they were very well thought and well done. you already had a serious good sens of fashion !! it is a reel pleasure to see them.
thank for sharing that part of childwood with us.
kisses

sewing its not easy, and certainly not easier at a such small scale. if you want to line a simple dress, for example, use the same pattern (or even the dress itself, before you saw it) and cut a 2nd dress in a light colored lining fabric.
then sew the 2 dresses, as if they were "twin"
then (by hand because it will be easier for tiny pieces) you place right side against right side
you can find plenty of very good sewing tips and tutorial on the web
but before all ...enjoy yourself
kisses
