Permalink Reply by Tropical Thought on February 2, 2011 at 15:53 Maybe one has to fill out a customs declaration? It is a hassle to ship to europe for me. I have only done it when I was sending gifts to friends, but maybe there is an export tax?
Permalink Reply by Evelien on February 2, 2011 at 15:56 Spain and the Netherlands are not that far away from each other... I can hardly imagine it would be a hassle. I've bought dolls from Spain and Portugal before. I don't know, I guess it's just a personal choice.
I've actually checked the newcomers forum to see if anyone here is from Spain, haha. Although I wouldn't want to bother someone I don't know with my little problem ;)
Permalink Reply by Tropical Thought on February 2, 2011 at 16:14 I don't like shipping to Spain or Italy - and will only do it recorded delivery. It is not because of customs as between members of the EU we don't have customs.
I no longer buy from the USA unless I REALLY want a doll which I will not find here ( Like Miss Suzette) Our customs are FEROCIOUS and unless it ismarked 'Gift' and less than $25, we have to pay - the last one was $25 on a $50 doll.
The worst are Americans who want to pay with a check or MO - we can't take them - and I do put very clearly Paypal only or by bank Transfer - which is free for people in Europe

I've never had any trouble getting dolls to the US and back again. I had custom shoes made for one of my Pams by Chrissy Creations and I had to send her one of my dolls as a 'mold' so to speak. Getting it to her and then getting it back again went pretty fast and smoothly.
Permalink Reply by Tropical Thought on February 2, 2011 at 19:31 Same here, I was going to reply to you, but there is no reply. What are the custom shoes made of? I have a thing for doll shoes, I worry, I can't get shoes for certain dolls, so buy shoes sometimes in big lots, but dolls like Jem, will never fit anything but shoes for Jem, but lucky for me, I horded Jem shoes for years, so Jem has a huge warerobe of shoes. But, Blythe is flat footed and hard to fit. Ginny has repro shoes. Even if you buy a Ginny clone, they can swap shoes.

All Pamela Love dolls came with one (not particularly beautiful) type of white shoe. Quite boring. I do have a few pairs of other white shoes for similar older dolls, but that's it. These custom boots were a great addition. I haven't had the time yet to make a chosen doll a matching outfit though :). I'm thinking of doing a white leather dress from an old dirty bag I'm not using anymore anyway.
I think Chrissy's a member here too btw..?

Hi Evelien,
There are a few members here from Spain including Lilly who is a Doll Observers Stalwart http://www.dollobservers.com/profile/LillyChevalierFox. Although I do know she is away at the moment. I'm sure she would be happy to help :)
Sorry to hear you were having problems with the text editor. It is a known issue with the platform and is currently 'being fixed'!
