There has been lots of interesting debate and chat about member's eBay experiences so I thought I'd start a thread dedicated to sharing our good and bad dealings with all things eBay!

On a recently sale, I had a seller contact me four days after the sale was completed and asked me to paypal him 5 additional dollars in order to ship my package because he'd misquoted the shipping cost. I told him no way, it wasn't my fault he'd misquoted the shipping and he that could either send me my package or refund the money ASAP.

He wrote me this long, mean email about how rude today's EBAY buyers were and that it the "old" days things would have been different and that I should be ashamed because I'd practically "robbed" him by getting the dolls at such a low bid.

Whatever.

Finally after three weeks, I got my package and one doll had it head ripped off. Yep.

I just let it go. I was sick of dealing with the idiot.

Here's what I was trying to change my post into.

What's really frustrating is, when people on eBay or other auctioning websites won't ship internationally. I've seen two PL dolls on Spanish todocoleccion.nl, just sitting there for 10 euros each with nobody buying them, and me wanting them SO BAD but the seller refuses to ship to the Netherlands. Just can't get over that. :( They're still there, I visit them every day...

Nobody from Spain here I suppose? I'd be extremely grateful if someone from Spain would buy them for me haha!

I feel your pain. I found some Steffi Love doll/playsets on the German Ebay site for very reasonable prices but the dealer won't ship outside of Germany/Austria.

Oh my that's terrible! Anyone who sells on ebay runs the risk of having items go for low prices (while other go way beyond expectations), it's just part of the game, no taking it out on you the buyer!!

And ripping off the poor dolls head? That's just plain mean and destructive! I hope you were able to repair??

well, i buy most of Barbies from ebay, cause i live in belgium and most of the dolls are avaible in usa and hard to find here in shops. i had few dolls never arrived after i payed, i have to take the risk if i want some dolls.... i must say that i got refounded from some sellers, as soon as i posted a bad feedback and told seller i was gonna forward the cmplain to police lol. another bad thing is that i get charged taxes from customs everytime a doll arrives from usa. last time i hade to pay 130 euros of taxes cause a friend sent me the tokidoki doll that now has reached a incredible value

i love to buy stuff on ebay!  in fact, the majority of my current doll collection has been purchased through ebay.  however, i think that (and have considered) selling my things on ebay, but think it may be more work than it is worth.....everybody seems to want something for nothing nowadays....if you are a buyer like me, and getting sick of ebay, i recommend tinyfrockshop.com for vintage barbie clothes it is the cutest little online store!  as for sellers out there, good luck! there are still some of us out there who really do appreciate what you do, and the things you sell, even though we are getting to be more and more few and far between.
