There has been lots of interesting debate and chat about member's eBay experiences so I thought I'd start a thread dedicated to sharing our good and bad dealings with all things eBay!

Oh - I have been back on ebay for ONE DAY - after a month or so off - and now I have someone wanting to change the doll they bought on BIN for another one I have listed....well, I get charged about $20 by ebay for final value fees and WHY CAN'T PEOPLE READ - BIN is a contractual agreement to buy!!!!! ( And look before they buy....) Ebay used to be great - I dread it now, but have no real alternative.....I honestly try to be helpful, but I am not losiong $20 because someone changed their mind.
ok, I will bite what is BIN? I never retract a bid because it will make me look bad. But, I am only bidding on cheap dolls less in 10 dollars each, so it's not like I am bidding the rent away.
View my latest ebay disaster Moldy Maddie Mod. She did have some good clothes listed with her, that  I liked. I washed the clothes and they look passable. Maddie Mod Clothes are more expensive then the actual dolls. On this doll the seller used a flash in facial close up and or air brushed out the marks on her face. The hair was cut and uneven, but you could not tell because the doll was face up and the photo showed the doll very small next to the big pile of clothes. It was still an under 10 dollar deal, so I did not leave any feed back yet, I am still thinking about how upset I am. I mean I am deciding how much of a disaster is and if I should leave negative or neutral feed back because the clothes are alright. No one bids on maddie mod, in fact, there is an online article called maddie mod rarely sells on ebay. It is because she is ugly with a kind of demented face. I know some people don't find her ugly, but I think the majority of people find her ugly. You can see her in my album here or on Flickr.
B.I.N = Buy It Now. Eventually I just let them buy the doll they wanted and relisted the original one - but I'm not pleased - especially as they emailed me and said I could change the pictures etc etc NO, I CAN'T ! Yes, the dolls are not cheap ( $175) but that should make people even more careful.  Then, I had someone asking why my Blythe repros are twice as expensive as 'others' - BECAUSE I SHIP FROM THE UK - NOT FROM THAILAND....AND I imported them and had all the work! They were very nice - but it's just the constant chit-chat on ebay now. It never used to be like this. Have to say - I have less trouble selling high end dolls ( $150+) than chepaer things.

Yes, I know I have a neo blythe mango, but I got her from a friend NBRM because I did not want to deal with the shipping. He took a trip there to buy them for resale. The one I really want is Amaryllis, but I will never get her because she was limited to 1000 dolls. But, I am still hopeful that there will be more colored hair dolls in the future because they are still making Neo Blythe. I talked to someone who waited to buy a new one hoping the price would go down and it only went up. So, if you miss the original boat and you really want the doll it only gets worse not better.

If they knew what I know they would have more appreciation for the price of neo blythe $175 is a deal. They just need to do their homework. You can tell them I said so. LOL.

I agree that eBay used to be so much more fun. It used to be that it was purely collectors selling their old dolls and items to others. Now people think that if you sell a doll that you should provide an Amazon service. It's fine for them to not pay for days yet insist you post the item yesterday!
I can not decide how to rate that ebay transaction with the Maddie Mod. Should I rate negitive because the doll was misrepresented, or positive because the price was low and the clothes were good, but mildew smelling, however, washing brought the smell down to a tolerable level and the clothes are ok, or neutral because I can't decide. I did write to the seller and did not hear back, so I will rate them low for communication. I feel kind of guilty unless it the case of the other party being a total jerk.
It normally goes very smooth without problems. In fact, 90 percent of the dolls things I buy are just fine. But, because I buy many little things, I am more likely to hit problems. The more you buy, the more likely you will one day hit a problem. In the beginning I got super upset and stressed, but over time I kind of mellowed to the process. You have to let go of a certain desire to control everything. So, don't let me discourage you.
That is outrageous! They will would pay until you ship it? I guess they think you are not going to ship it once you they pay. I guess I can see that, but if you do that, you the buyer, will never have a smooth transaction and get good feedback. Buyers need good feedback also.
These shoes can't be disco dater shoes 190496829541 becauuse I found the real ones online and the heels should be darker orange, but they look really cool. I don't care if they are real disco dater shoes, I don't even collect vintage. My only concern is will they fit any of my dolls? I have over 100 dolls from Barbies to Clones most in the 11.5 range, but still I some times buy an ebay shoe and it won't fit any of the dolls. So I email the seller to ask if she can try the shoes on a standard barbie, just to see if they will fit. She won't even email be back. And if you look there are other disco dater shoes, but they look different are more expensive and not as nice. I havea Jem shoes in transulent orange, but I would rather get them for my Mango Blythe then for the Barbie lines. Still this shoes is in my watch for months now, and ever time I see it, I want it.

These forums refuse to let me edit my comment..! It says 'saving' for minutes and doesn't change the comment at all...

Here's what I was trying to change my post into.

What's really frustrating is, when people on eBay or other auctioning websites won't ship internationally. I've seen two PL dolls on Spanish todocoleccion.nl, just sitting there for 10 euros each with nobody buying them, and me wanting them SO BAD but the seller refuses to ship to the Netherlands. Just can't get over that. :( They're still there, I visit them every day...

Nobody from Spain here I suppose? I'd be extremely grateful if someone from Spain would buy them for me haha!

That's todocoleccion.net of course, not todocoleccion.nl as I posted above, but I can't edit my message for some reason...
