Hello from Finland

Hi there!

 

I am a Barbie hobbyist from Lahti. I´ver been collecting Barbie dolls from 2002. There are over 300 dolls in my Barbie room at the moment, plus two Barbie doll houses, cars, a boat and a horse =)

 

I buy my dolls from flea markets, Ebay and sometimes from toy stores.

 

I¨m an active member in a Finnish Barbie club, thebdoll.com.

You've got an amazing collection! Are there many Barbies in Finnish flea markets, or you go to other European countries to hunt as well? I'm planning my visit to Helsinki and the local flea market is one of main places of interest for me.

Thanks! There are really many Barbies in Finnish flea markets. When I travel in Europe, I check their toy stores and flea markets. Welcome to Helsinki, there are many great places to find Barbies!

That's great! Are there any European editions as well? The quantity of Steffie-molds for European market makes my heart run faster :)
Flea markets are the paradise of a treasure hunter. Here in SPb there's a great one, but....almost no Barbies. Here we have a lot of vintage Soviet dolls and toys so collectors of vintage toys come here often.

Are there many shops in Finland that carry a nice variety of modern Barbie dolls? Here we have a poor choice, it's a pity. A lot of Moxies and Bratz but very few Barbies.

Mainly European editions, yes. I have found also some 70's and 80's dolls :D

There are not so many shops with good Barbie varitety; mainly playline princesses, not collector dolls.

Wow! I am planning my trip to Helsinki and now I know that I should bring extra money for a successful hunt))

Some of the modern playlines are so nice. Time will pass and they will become collected - just like we buy playdolls from 80s and 90s now :)
