In case you are wondering...I live in a very small state next to Pennsylvania and South of New Jersey on the East Coast of the US. Sadly there are some US citizens who don't know where our state is. If you are not from the US, well, I doubt I know your geography either, so no problem.
I also was excited like many people to find this forum. I am a Barbie fanatic, mostly vintage, but I love Silkstone..I just have one of those. I have about 50+ vintage Barbies (if you include Ken, Skipper, Stacey, PJ, and Francie).
The official Barbie forum, seems more like a sales thing and they are sold out on memberships this year...kind of silly.
I was born in 1963 and was the youngest, so I actually played with an early 60's Bubblecut that belonged to an older cousin. I love the oldest doll's for that reason. I also of course want what I can't have..like the one's that are Japanese exclusives or outfits that were only made in Europe.
Since my bank account isn't a bottomless pit, I am learning to reroot and repaint, fix old clothes, and beginning to make a few things myself.
Anyway..I am very happy to meet others who have similar interests in dolls, doll clothes and dioramas.
Love the story about your Bubblecut! Funny to think though that what would have been a "hand me down" at the time is worth so much now and a prized possession!
Do enjoy the site and it's great to have you onboard!
Welcome Kathy! Your sense of humor is sure to fit in well around here! Have fun
