Hi guys!
My friend Deb has been hyping about the doll observers so much I just had to join up. I'm emilia from Finland although I'm now living in China somewhat permanently to keep an eye on my doll line production.I started collecting in 2006 and thought dolls were too much of girls toys before that. Actually as a kid I much preferred scraping my knees, hitting boys with a stick and climbing trees. ;) My doll collection consists of Sybarites, Numina, Integrity Toys, BJDs and some odds and ends. It's awesome to find a doll forum completely new to me and also one that works from China without a proxy since those are few and far between and I need more dollyfriends in my life! :)
hugs,
emilia

Permalink Reply by Valerie Myers on February 18, 2013 at 23:52 Hi, Emilia, I ordered Inro and can't wait to see her in person. She is so unique...I love those long eyelashes and her exotic look. I just joined here myself as I collect Sybarites and lots of other dolls of all sizes and styles. I prefer resin ball jointed dolls these days and love to sew for them. I am already getting all my wigs out to see which ones would look good on her. I love your wig pictures, especially the black ponytail and the multi colored red bob. She is so gorgeous. I got my email that she will ship on the 20th, so looking forward to her arrival.

Hope you have fun around,
Nilsa
Hi Em'lia. That's cool that you are staying in China. It must be so different. It is really exciting that your first doll is in production and actually shipping to customers now. That must be a dream come true for you. I'm sure you will amaze us with more designs in days to come
Permalink Reply by Emilia Nieminen on March 6, 2013 at 2:48 Hi Lisa, Nilsa and Valerie. Thank you for the lovely comments!
Nilsa: Yes, I'm at DollyDaily too, it's sort of my home forum but since it's blocked from China I've tried to find other forums that work.
Valerie: I love China but I admit it can be frustrating at times. I've been fighting with my courier company whole day yesterday and assume to continue today to get the tracking numbers to the dolls that shipped on Monday. Still, life here is really nice and I feel at home. I've wanted to come back ever since my exchange year in Beijing 6 years ago. That and actually having my own doll line truly are a dream come true. And thanks for the vote of confidence. I'll try to live up to the expectations. :)

I want to wish you the best of luck with your dolls.
You be safe over there,

Permalink Reply by Emilia Nieminen on March 7, 2013 at 2:35 I have found some proxy servers that allow me to get to DollyDaily, but it's a constant battle as the proxys get blocked faster than I can find them. Sometimes I wish I was more of a computer nerd. I don't know why anyone would blog doll boards but I guess they belong to some general clusters as Prego and DollObservers seem to be the only ones working. I can't even access my blog anymore and always need to ask a friend to post for me. But it's all worth it really. I love living in China, the doll factory is only 6km away so I can pop by with my bike anytime and the living expenses are low so I can maintain a roof over my head while starting this company. With these editions there isn't much profit to mention (in Inro there was none) so if I'd be living in Finland none of this would be possible. I hope the company will get on it's feet soon and the gamble will pay off. I'm not looking for huge profits anyway, but it would be nice to be able to realise any design idea I have without thinking that the risk won't ruin the whole company. ;)
