Is this a real barbie "black/dark francie" 1966?

I found this ebay auction and wanted to ask if this is a real "black francie" - first generation.

It certainly looks that way to me but I can't be sure. I'm sure one of our Barbie lovers here will know

In my opinion, she looks real and I don't think Mattel has made a reproduction of the black Francie.

She certainly looks like the real deal, doesn't she?  Very different from my AA Repro Francie.

Oh, so there is a repro black Francie too. I didn't know that. That's good that Deb has her and can tell you that the doll in the auction looks different. Also I think the hair would be different if it were a repro doll.

Yeah this eyes are really a masterpiece. 

Does someone have an idea of the average pricing of this beauty? Approx. 1000-1500$?
Man I wish I could pay such a price right now.

But if it stays the steal it is right now...


Edit: I just saw the original swimsuit is being sold in a separate auction.

Dearest Dolly-Sister Andrea...if you have trouble finding someone trust-worthy online (you know, that won't try to snipe your beauty away from you @ Auction end...or is that just me and my paranoia? ) I seem to remember several extensive articles regarding the differences between the true vintage Francie's and the reproduction Francie's in my old Barbie Bazaar magazines.  Let me dig around tonight and if I can find the one I'm thinking of, I can scan pix for you!

That's definitely a black Francie with the patent on back and not the repro.they go from 500-2000 depending on the condition and if it's boxed or not..higlhy collectable.the first AA Barbie and it was only produced for 1 year.
