My husband and I have been discussing building rooms for fashion dolls. For now just basic rooms with nice wood floors and paint or wallpaper walls, unfurnished. I am really new to fashion dolls so I am not sure if a custom built room would be interesting to anyone as an item to buy. I'm looking for any sort of feedback on this; best size, interest level, does anyone do this sort of thing (and where can I research this topic further) and so on.

I think the thought was if it it has a plexiglass top it wouldn't have to be removable because you can shine lights through the plexiglass. The front would still be open.

i just found a site w/really cool (but super expensive) stackable 16x16 rooms....www.prdminatures.com and the rooms are for the "skyloft".

I hit the link, but it doesn't work.  Is it correct?

@ Simon, thanks for the link to the pictures of the Rement room. I hadn't seen it before. It looks quite Licca sized, and I think Barbie and FR dolls would be a bit cramped in there. (Rupual would have to stoop!)

@ andy, thanks for the link to miniio.com. I had never seen that before either. It is really great. I like their minimal design, and I like the design of the website too. That's something I would try to buy for a daughter if I had a daughter (I just have one son, he's 14; he's more into robots than dolls)

@ Anne, I think there are definitely collectors out there who would be interested in buying rooms with nice wood floors, and certainly some parents would buy them for kids. Not every child wants the pink plastic dream house, some would prefer a basic living space for their dolls that they could decorate themselves.

i'm sorry, myd\fault, i mis-spelled it! prd. miniatures.com

Thanks so much Andy! I really wanted to stick with the black and white theme...and just add a tiny pop of red.

And there's always a kitty in my dios...huge kitty lover here. We have five of them lol.

Thanks for looking!
