Mattel and those old metal earrings! Aargh!
I have an online friend who is quite the famous Barbie Restoration Expert (Fabienne at Lolax's), but she does not give away the Green Ear secret. I really consider Fabienne to be a guru, so I listen to anything she tells me.
Clue: She tells me it is a use of two products and one is European.
Thus far what I have found works best and quickest is applying Remove-zit and alternately applying Wenol ( a German Silver polish cream). This will take care of moderate to mild green ear. Prolonged use of Remove-zit will fade Barbie's paint.
I have one doll who I have probably been treating for about a year...I refuse to give up. I would say she had severe green ear, the kind where it goes to the cheeks.
I have tried Tarnex and also Kaboom. No noticeable difference. Also Fabienne says that Tarnex will leave a brown spot. Not good.
Please let me know any other thoughts, for I think this disease is the number one killer of Vintage Barbie.
