Hi everyone

I want to hear your answers to this question:

‘Why join Doll Observers?’

Let’s say you are trying to encourage fashion doll lovers to join our community. What reasons would you give to encourage them to join? What makes our community relevant to you? What do we do well? What makes our members great?

I want to hear all your ideas and hope to read a lot of answers over the coming days.

Please do contribute!

Hugs,

Simon, Community Manager

first of all, It's good not to feel alone. to be able to talk about what we love dearly with somebody who's going to really understand your feeling. people who can share the trill you got, when you encounter this doll it's seems you "needed" to feel your dream.

When you join dollObserver, as I did one year ago, you find those people, you got those friends all over the globe, and you share the passion, the friendship, the fun .

What Lilly said. I want to share my joy over dolls with others, and in real life I just can't. And right here it works in two directions; I can post photos of my dolls that I'm proud of and receive comments, and I can enjoy other people's beautiful dolls and be inspired :)
I as well,  Ienjoy the challenges photos contest, based on themes each month . I encourage my friends in Sew much Fun, to challenge ourselves on working on the same pattern, to see what our different brains can come up too
Thanks so much Lilly and Evelien, this is great stuff to hear :)
Well, besides being the BEST doll site on web due to the many free applications that our gracious host provides! Users can enjoy the camaraderie of doll collecting with a multi-faceted group rather than just one certain doll being in the spotlight. You can be exposed to dolly joys you wouldn't otherwise notice through the eyes of their admirers and maybe even fall in love with a new doll yourself. Just prior to finding Doll Observers, I was unsatisfied with the limiting aspects of other doll sites and competitions and yearned to start my own blog so I could post my dolls, custom outfits, props, and allow others to participate so I could view/share with other doll enthusiasts. Immediately in my search I found this site which was EVERYTHING I had hoped and dreamed of. You can create your own blogs, groups, show off your pictures, connect with friends, all for free in a supportive and loving Facebook-esque setting which is also Facebook/Twitter friendly! And of course, my favorite: "Theme of the Month Group" allows you to fully participate with other collectors in a healthy and friendly competition in which you can show off not only your favorite dolls & collections but their wardrobes, accessories, props and dioramas that go hand in hand with doll collecting! Thank You so much Simon and to everyone who participate to make this site so very rich in media. Dolly Hugs to you all! xoxo, sincerely, Mark Padilla : )

Thanks so much Mark. These are wonderful testimonials to encourage other doll lovers into our fold :)

looking throughout the site this morning, it struck me!! DollObs is an  E-magazine!

with its Creator/editor, and we (the members) the journalists

the Creator/editor, give us rules/organization, send us challenges and ideas,

We add pictures, articles, stories, discoveries, and a bit of our live in it, then we publish it.

we are open or discrete, we are concern or funny,  we love Barbies, Bratz,  Sybarite or any 16"dolls like Tyler or Gene, and just talk about it freely.

It's the closest we ever be of having/making/living our own magazine.

Thanks Simon you are doing a wonderful job

dolly cheers

I LOVE that analogy Lilly!  I agree completely and am even more excited to be a part of this community/zine!  xoxo :)

It's really great to meet doll lovers from all over the world. As for me, the atmosphere is very important. (btw it's the atmosphere in the Blythe community that simply MADE me start buying these dolls several years ago heheh)) Of course there are people who collect fashion dolls, BJD, reborn dolls and antiques at the same time but generally I see the collectors with strong preferences for one type of dolls over the others. My own collection is 95% fashion dolls, so I love being among people with the same doll preferences. Thank you Simon, for giving the fashion doll lovers from all over the world the chance to unite on such a website!

and the magazine idea is great! :)

for me the best way to share my works with international specialist fashion doll lover and to see the news and yhe other collect too..thank a lots...
