My latest arrival is Fashion Royalty's Luchia Z Future Bound. I opened the white box carefully, as I knew behind its smooth door rested a very striking doll.  I'd seen her in pictures, but had never before absorbed the detail and craftsmanship that went into her fine features at such proximity.  She's a perfect little gem, with a dusky kohl-lined gaze and somber dark lips, given a kittenish touch with winged eyeliner and sweetly muted brows. Her silvery blonde hair is the perfect foil for her dramatic makeup.  Alas, I had to put her away, as inescapable duty called. But I will return later to take her picture in an appropriately glamorous setting.

Wow what a wonderful assortment of new dolls.  They are all really neat! My latest is the Cleo de Nile Monster High doll I got a few weeks back.  I have several new Barbies waiting for me in storage.  I have a 2nd set of 2010 Harley Davidson Barbie and Ken (Ken will be ooak'd to look like my husband and I want to ooak the Barbie in Elvira), I also have one of the Basics 2.5 in storage, she will get the Agent Scully head from the 1998 X-Files set and will get re-rooted and painted to look like me.

Ada, my wood trim has just arrived. :-) I need to saw the ends to make right-angled corners and stain them to finish off my rooms. Then I can arrange Luchia in scenes with Kyu, Veronique & my little unnamed Model Muse; maybe add Halle Berry Catwoman for fun!      

Deborah, I stood in front of a Monster High display for ages debating which struck my fancy the most, but couldn't settle on one.  They didn't have Cleo de Nile, though ~ if they did, I would've picked her up that instant!  An Elvira OOAK is a great idea! I wouldn't even know how to begin turning a doll into my own likeness, though have a few Living Dead Dolls that remind me of certain relatives.

I had intended to turn my first 2010 Harley Barbie into Elvira and immediately removed her makeup... poor girl lived for almost a year with no face as I tried and tried to do a decent face-up. Finally got an ok one, but still not totally happy with it, so I will do a touch-up style paint to turn her into Elvira.  As far as the custom me...well I'm going for a Barbie version of me...the Scully head sculpt is a little thicker than some of the other heads and she has blue eyes.  I have a pair of glasses similar to those I wear and will do a reroot and I'll call her Me! =D

I saw the production pictures for "Jasper Hale and fell in love! Such haunted, world weary eyes, the striking cheekbones, the generous mouth... He looks so much like Mikhael Baryshnikov! I got him for my birthday, and his name is Michael Weiss, and he's a british ballet dancer. Here are some pics!

Mary Beth, you're right, he does!  It's amazing that you can envision a completely different life for a character than the one for which he was originally created, by noticing his features rather than letting the back-story override your imagination. You've inspired me to look for a Rudolf Nureyev lookalike now... maybe I'd find him disguised as a numchuk-toting action figure?

LOL, I almost never keep my dolls in their produced personalities - and I didn't even know he was from twilight til I read the product description! Dolls are seminal to my creative flow-- after I donated all of my barbies, I got terrible writer's block. Thank goodness for Tonner, or I'd be staring at blank pages to this day!

Are you a writer too? One of the things that first attracted me to fashion dolls was that some of them embody characters in my storylines without changing a thing. If I didn't know better, would think Jason Wu could read my mind! :-)

I aspire to be a writer, right now I just write down character outlines. I have always played out stories and situations about my dolls, I literally cannot remember when it started. What happens is, I see a doll, I want it desperately, and it's character blossoms in my mind like a flower, sometimes slowly and sometimes all at once. Right now I am working on a very difficult writing exercise - I am re-writing Twilight in my own words. It's teaching me a lot.

I'm still very much in love with my JAMIEshow St. Tropez Angelica. All I need now is some new clothes for her... and shoes... and maybe the cool beach furniture from the St. Tropez range. Ah if only we all had than money tree
