What makes them special, more appealing to you?

For me personally it is the poseability, the articulation of those dolls. They can pose almost like humans, some even better! :)

Being a doll maker myself but also a photographer, I appreciate the ability to use the bjd poseability to my advantage when I photograph them. There is a huge difference between taking picture of a completely unmovable doll and a ball jointed one.

There's also the customisation option, which many BJD have. Especially the resin ones. You can change their face up, wigs, even limbs and ears! Even the porcelain doll offers that. Even better! Porcelain BJD, such as mine, come with a permanent face up, which will never rub off or chip, but you can also paint them! Just use acrylics or human eyeshadows and eyeliners, which you can then easily wipe off! Porcelain does not stain.
