Don't like'em much - but I don't much like dolls with visible joints, let alone swapping heads. However, I'm glad to see what devilish creatios Mattel comeup with - I am sadly out of touch with new dolls these days!
I think Mattel did this as they are trying to chack up with Fashion Royalty and other dolls that are very much appreciated by collectors as they have different parts of their bodies that can be changed. Many collectors rebody their dolls or at leats that's what I have noticed.
Yes, I know they do. I only really buy vintage and don't even like twist waists - like the doll as a mannequin for clothes. I can't think of a doll further away from what my friend and I manufacture than these.
I love it! I can wait to have at list 3 of them to make some changes.
I'm a vintage girl myself. :D But I'm always happy when Mattel stops and listenes to what it's collectors have to say and what are their needs.
Mattel cerrtainly seem to have learned that they do need to listen to collectors, or their stuff won't sell. They seem to have cut down considerably on what they produce now - I was looking through a few old Barbie Bazaars and had forgotten just how much stuff they used to churn out. I have to say that their vintage repros are very good - much better than they used to be, although at the moment vintage prices are so down, you may as well have the real thing in some cases. It's a really good time to be collecting 60's stuff.
I'm still unhappy with some of the details like the plastic they use with Collector editions. Look at Cleopatra's stuff. /:) Anyway I saw that prices are going down. Just bought Western Winking and Kissing in a perfect condition for 16$ :D Yey!
I don't like it for my purpose. I love the articulated bodies and like to swap the Fashionistas heads with heads that have faces that I like. This Swapping Style range limits the head swapping to the three dolls. The body without the neck freaked me out a tiny bit. :-)
Thanks for the info Ada.
Call me old fashioned but I don't get it! I don't get why you would have to buy all the dolls in order to swap their heads around unless you're just too lazy to switch the clothes LOL! One doll with three heads to swap so you have a 3 in 1 kind of thing going on I sort of get. But this no.

Although they would make a good subject for October's Halloween theme :-))
Looooooooooooooooooool! Well I have to admitt you ppl are the first that don't like them. On all the forums I write the collectors went crazy for them! Everybody rebodies. I for one only do this when the body or head has prbs but look at Laura. She changes them around all the time so there's a strong demand for sdolls that can easily change their heads and other body parts.
