Fashion doll Repainting and Customizing is a new kind of Pop Art. Creating an unique doll requires a lot of work, but the results are absolutely worth it!
This group is a place where you can share your own creations but also share your knowledge in repainting, rerooting, sewing...
If you never did an OOAK before, but you would like to start and need some tips, than you´re perfect here as well.
(Only redressed doll into not selfmade outfits are not OOAK...just in case you´re wondering)

Well, I bought the paint recommended by a really spectacular repaint artist ... sigh. I couldn't get all the original paint off my doll. It stayed in the creases around her eyes and mouth. So I thought, I'll just cover the old paint up. That didn't work too good. And like the last time I tried to repaint a doll, I got brush strokes on her eyeballs even though I used flow medium and retarder. My first attempt was an F-, so in a few days I'll clean her face off again and try again. Mixing the paint is hard. Even with retarder mixed in, the paint dries faster than I can paint. I finally had to stop because my eyes were so tired. I had magifying glasses, and I tried using a magnifying lamp as well, but it was too difficult to position the doll under the lamp and THEN get the paint right. After two hours it wasn't fun anymore, so I stopped. I think the repaint artists are magicians! How do they get all those tiny tiny shades of color in the pupil? Sigh, sigh, sigh!

andy sorensenI don't know about the puffy paint I know that E-6000 holds just about anything it's super super glue I use it to glue my dolls hair on but make sure what you glue you want it to stay glued cuss I haven't been able to take my dolls hair off since i glued it with this glue.

i have a question, hopefully someone can help!!! i recently saw a blog where a woman got the monster high DIY kit doll, and the wigs didn't fit right, so she used puffy paint to do a pixie style hair cut.....it was SO CUTE, but i am wondering if anyone has tried this??? if so, what were your results???? it looks cute, but is it "durible"? i think my concern in that it would just peel off.......thanks!
