For me personlly I LOVED this doll range. I was big into Madonna as a kid and so when a popstar doll came out I was hooked.

I remember the day I saw Jem. It was October 1986 and I was in our local Toy N Hobby (which was massive, it's now Iceland) I had checked the usual isles biding my time to get to the doll isle to check out Barbie & Sindy. I saw a whole shelf of Jem and my jaw dropped!

I spent ages trying to pick one with my Grandma as there where 10 girls to choose from. I narrowed it down to the lead Singer Jem or Pizzazz of the Misfits (Jems rival band) My Grandma liked Pizzazz best and she had a casette of music with her too.

The week after, I was desperate to get to town and my sister came too, Pam got Jem the movie on video and I got Jem we where hooked.

Pam still loved her Sindy's but everytime I could I would get a Jem doll until I had them all...

I think I am a little... ahem.. too old to really appreciate Jem but I did have a Darci collection which who was the basis for the Jem mold.
Yes, they used the Darci body mold quite closely. I have had a few Darci's myself in recent years but I sold them on sadly. I missed Darci when sh was originally out although I have a faint recollection of seeing her in a toy store as a kid.
It's a shame she wasn't around for very long. She was a quality doll.
Well I must admit I'll always be a kid when it comes to 80s dolls and toys. :D My next items on my wish list are a Shana doll and some Darcis. My fave Barbie series is Barbie and The Rockers so some Jem doll MUST be in my collection.
Just started watching all the episodes from the cartoon. God I love the 80s! So relaxing after a long days work....
I wish I had some spare Jem dolls left for you at one point I had so many....let me see if I still have a picture

OMG! Can I move into your room? :))
Slightly OTT, i have non on display now as this was before Sindy & Barbie kicked back in so April 07 I think. and I am very wary of sun damage. I also collected Winx at the time.
WOW now that is a collection!

I have started watching Jem on YouTube and am checking her out on eBay. I am worried that you may have started something ;)
Ha Ha, it is very addictive. Since I started this I have re-ignighted my passion and bid on a boxed Stormer whichI don't have the money for lol
