I have seen some Jems on ebay listed as made in Mexico that are really expensive. I looked carefully, and some of them are good looking, but some are not, but all of them look exactly like the normal Jems. I can't tell any difference. Even the most good looking was simply identical to any normal Jem or Misfit, so what is the attraction of the doll? The boxes look the same also, I mean I did not see any Spanish writing, so obviously they were not sold in Mexico.

These Jems are very unusual, They are usually more cheaply made than the UK or US versions. They usually have a more whistful look on thier face and straggly hair.
I had a Mexi Jem once and while she was nice, I sold her on.
They are quite abundant in the UK as I think they sold quite a few in the cheaper toy shops as they imported them cheap.
There hands are usually prone to breaking off and their clothes are made of a more rubbery texture.

I think it's these small differences that make them very appealing to the big bucks buyers in the USA. I think A colector Called Red Hot Cherrie like to collect them.

I had a picture of mine somewhere I will try to find it. I can usually spot them a mile off in listing
It turns out you were right. What was happening is people are posting regular Jem as Mexican to get more money and they look the same, but today I saw some Jems that had a different face paint. At the same time someone is posting a doll claiming that doll is Mexican and that the head is normal, which is not true. I would not trust the doll is mexican without seeing a difference in the face paint compared to a normal Jem. Even if the body was Mexican, I can not see the point of paying 200 dollars for a Jem with the same head and an inferior more breakable body. I could see buying Jem with different facepaints, at least that would sort of enhance my collection, but I can't afford them.
Thanks for the links, because I never even thought of checking the ebay uk. I am saving the photos of the different faces, so I will at least have some examples in my files.
Whem I clicked those dolls had been sold, and the photo only appears for one second, is there a way to make the photo hold still so I can look at them, instead of being redirected to other items?
You are not redirected. Scroll down and you'll be able to see them. Also here's a good pic with the comparison:

Look at this beautiful Mexican comic book:

Thanks, it really helps to see them side by side.
