Here are the first knit made by Menise. she does not even have one doll to try on. she lives in France and I in Spain, so some time the first try are not perfect  but in all I am quite happy with what she does.

after several unsuccessful attempts to knit the criss-cross in the front, I  knitted the sweater in full with a simple "moss" between 2 simple cables and I ended doing the "criss-cross" with this simple trick, I made a chain stitch.

As you can see in my web site http://www.domidoll.com/ Sean is Irish. For each member of my gang , I am quite attentive at each of their nationality.

looking for an Aran sweater for Sean (he's from the O'Farrell clan)  I discovered this wonderful site

http://www.aransweatermarket.com/clan-aran-sweaters

All  Aran are pictured with the corresponding history. it is a wonderful site for inspiration .

indeed it was more inspiration than real reproduction, as my knitting skill are way fare of the range needed to knit those wonder.

this is the original O'Farrell Aran model , and you can notice that it is quite more elaborated then Sean's

Picasso had a "blue period" (1901 and 1904) I had a white one

every little bit of white (or half white) was used  until the end of it!. all my Gang should have /own at least 1 white top.

I had for very long a lot of white wool ready to be used. I made a bunch of outfit for my girls, picking here and there patterns and ideas. Not everything is perfect but it shows that trial and error can make improve the skill.
