I initially started out as a collector of vintage Pamela Love dolls, but while searching for dolls and joining doll collector communities, I stumbled upon so many other stunning dolls. For a long time I didn't even think about buying one, but at some point I fell in love with Tonner's Ellowyne Wilde and my intentions of buying a doll other than a Pamela were getting more and more serious. Unfortunately though, I really can't afford Ellowyne right now. Yesterday I remembered seeing Moxie Teenz dolls, which reminded me of Ellowyne. I'd seen them online and in stores, but decided that I was a Pam doll collector, not a doll collector in general.
But.. when I was chatting to Mark here last night, I suddenly got inspired to buy myself a Moxie Teenz doll anyway. I chose Tristen. And I'm mighty happy I did, because it was love at first sight when I unboxed her. Can't wait to customize her though. I don't like her hair (a new wig is on its way) and I wanna try making her new clothes.
For now, this is what my Tristen looks like. I'll give her a new name once she has her new wig.

Permalink Reply by Evelien on April 12, 2011 at 16:34 Okay, the wig has arrived and the outfit has been put on!! :D
From now on, my Tristen's name is Amy.
I'm happy, but not extatic. I was told on several websites that Moxies wear a wig size 5. The wig I have now is a size 5-6 and it's on the small side! I'm a bit disappointed. It's okay for now, but next time I'm ordering a 6-7..!
Here's my gal :). She's wearing her original ring and shoes. Outfit, jewellery and bag are made by me.
Meet Amy!

Permalink Reply by Evelien on April 13, 2011 at 22:51 Oh, did I tell you that a second Tristen is on her way as we speak? :)
The day I bought my Tristen, I found an ad placed online by a Dutch dolly friend of mine. She'd had her Tristen on display for a while, but was now selling her again lol. I had just deboxed my doll and, to be honest, that was a big part of the fun, since I mainly collect vintage dolls it's nice to unpack something brand new every once in a while right!, so I didn't regret buying a brand new doll, but the second hand doll was still very tempting.. so when I finished - for now - customizing my first Tristen, I contacted her to buy hers too.. lol.
She just e-mailed me that the doll was shipped today so she should arrive tomorrow. She included a chair Tristen can sit on ( :D !!!) and some random doll accessories in the package! Yay, it feels like my birthday!! So exciting ^^
I'll be out in the afternoon though, so unless the package comes really early I may not have it till Friday :(
Probably about the same as the Juku Dolls...they aren't that good either. Can't wait to see if whatever you're thinking works! :)

Thanks :). I'm not extatic about her articulation and posability (sp?) though. I've been doing some research and there simply isn't an alternative for her, body-wise. Bjd's and other articulated dolls are either smaller or much bigger. But I wanna try something.. might fail horribly though. Not gonna say anything about it yet cause I'm scared it won't work XD
