Sewing for the 16" Fashion Doll

I thought it might be fun to have a topic where those of us who play mostly with the 16" size doll could talk about outfits/patterns we like. I made an outfit for Chinese New Year (tomorrow in the US -- already there in China!).  It is being modeled…Continue

one of my men is Irish is name is Sean O'Farell and I wanted an Aran sweater for him. unfortunately my skill as knitter is quite limited and it took me a while to do something close anough to satisfie him :

up here you have the original Aran sweater for the O'farell clan each clan as its own pattern.

now this is what I came up to for Sean. of course it is fare from perfect but ...you got the idea! :)

That's excellent. You did a very neat job. Your dolls are lucky to have a real leather handbag.

I like your bag, Kate.  If you don't mention it, no one knows if it is glued or sewed togheter.

Good job.

I think this is *almost* a sewing project cough*glue*cough.

I made this doll's bag from some scraps of glove leather, it's lined will wool felt...but decided to make it non opening in the end.

This was fun to do

I got the idea from a tutorial on My Froggy Stuff.  It's a blog about making doll accessories from recycled and everyday household stuff.  My girls ADORE it.  It was a HUGE resource when we were building the Barbie house.

And I also made the shoes...  they made me cuss a lot...
