  • Thanks Valerie. I love lining my doll clothes and do it as much as I can possibly do. lining gives good realism as well as strength for the garments. it is quite necessary because I play a lot with my doll and dressing/undressing  ask a lot to the clothes.

  • Those pieces are all beautiful! You are very good at making lined jackets. I like the beaded layered belt; it looks good with the skirt and with the cigarette pants.

  • I made more for Marie's "garderobe"

    Coordinates Ah the possibilities!

still using the same flowery Polyester I add another skirt (just a big circle skirt)

made a green cigarette pants and a yellow pencil skirt

     and a green vest

you will see more of those in my blog

  • Marie's last outfit

still with the same flowery polyester, I made to Marie another dress (same pattern as before but a gathered skirt (only a big simple rectangle)

the short jacket made of light green cotton is totally lined with the same fabric as the dress

I made a belt in green cotton attached with a snap

    everything is handmade

she wore underneath a nice white cotton petticoat adorned of white cotton lace

     closer view of the belt

  • @ Valerie

     thanks sweetie

,  I am making another dress with still the same fabric (hubby's challenge ) and I have as well a light green remnant that should make a nice bolero (or short jacket)

  • That's beautiful, Lilly! You chose a very nice color to go with the floral print, and the hat is the perfect touch.

  • oups I forgot to mention that I used the same pattern as before offered in Haute doll magazine (march /April 2009) by Randall Craig

  • Marie new outfit

going shopping hubby bought me this lovely floral polyester

Marie being seated near my sewing machine would be the firt to see it of course

please make me something "Fifty's" with this...please!!

I still had a nice cotton remnant in this gold yellow that fit quite nicely with it

     here Marie's new dress

the belt is a ribbon attached with a snap under the bow

the dress is fully lined in white nylon

     all is hand stitched

the shoes are Gene 's original

     the bag is home made

the slip-on coat was quite popular around the fifty's as well as the lining assorted to the dress. I remember clearly pictures of  my mom who had such lovely figure wearing this kind of dress and coat with the same lining than the dress or the shirt I still love this today. it had a definite elegance and attention to details

the coat is fully lined with (false)pockets.

  • still from this lovely site "scientific seamstress"
