I worked all week at a travellin outfit for Odette (Imogen), I don't use a sewing machine, my dresses are all handmade so sewing takes me quite a lot of time. But it is such fun!
I used cotton for the tailleur and hat and viscosa for the top, the pattern is not so original but I designed it:
I know, lighting is awful, but today is impossible to get a better light
comments and suggestions are welcomed!!!
Lovely outfit. She looks ready to travel or shop for the holidays! Great job.
sewing by hand is quite relaxating and allows very small points
Hi Nora! The traveling suit you made for Odette is fantastic! I like the colors in the blouse and the geometric design of the jacket, and the cap looks perfect! A very good job.
I sew by hand too so I know exactly what you mean-- slow, but relaxing and fun and sometimes easier to do the tiny pieces for doll clothes compared to using a machine.
Thank you very much Valerie, glad you like it!
I always try to sew fashions for my dollies that I would wear too (sometimes I sew small replicas of my fav clothes), your fashions are really lovely!
Now that I learned how to sew trousers I've got a lot of ideas......right now I'm working on a pair for the "taller" girls (FR and FR2)
Thank you! But I believe I can improve the quality of my photographs...
Wow, only sewn by hand! What a lot of work and you did it pretty good!
Thanks Kathi! The hardest part was the hat...
oh my Nora it is absolutely beautiful!! I love the (casquette ) hat, as well. very well done indeed she is so totally ready to travel!
have you used your own pattern?
I love working by hands as well, even if I have sewing machine & surger that I use in general, I found that sewing by hand is very relaxing I can watch old movies and TV shows in youtube while hand sewing for my girls :)
I am working at a big project right now that you can see in my next post. (here in Sew Much fun)
fantastic picture you made too
thank you so much Lilly, you've been all so kind.
I always draw my own patterns, sometimes I also create the model (this is the case) other times I use pictures of fashions (old and new) and then I draw the pattern. I've been sewing only for a year now but I watched my grandma for my whole childhood (she was a seamstress) so somehow I "know" how to do most things just looking at the picture of the dress. But I was really puzzled by trousers...ha ha ha
Sometimes the final result is fine other times is awful...ha ha ha
I'll chek your new project right away, I'm also working on a "travelling dollies" project....but I'm so slow....it will take me years....
thanks again for this fantastic group!
