TRIED 6 TIMES TO MAKE A PATTERN TO A BODYSUIT TO FIT MOST OF 12" DOLLS!

IT TOOK A WEEK, TO FIND THE RIGHT LENTH FOR THE DIFFERENT SIZES OF LEGS FROM THE MOST POPULAR 12" DOLLS, FINALLY, FOUND THE RIGHT "STRECH" POINT TO THE MATERIAL AND THE "COOL" OVEREND TO MAKE IT WORTH FOR THEM ALL. THE HANDBAG IS MY VERSION FROM THE FAMOUS HANDBAG FROM "BARBIES GAY PARISIENNE VINTAGE OUTFIT, ORIGINALLY IN BROWN VELVET AND WITH ANOTHER CLOSURE. HOPE YOU LIKE IT!

Fantastic Marcelo, these have a 1980s feel to them, and the belts work well also!

A GOOD TIP FOR BELTS IN MANY DFFENT MATERIALS IS TO MAKE IT WITH A "BIAS" CUT OF FABRIC AND CLOSE IT WITH A SNAP, EVEN IF YOU USE A BUCLE TO THE "FRONT".  IF YOU MAKE IT IN A BIAS, IT  WILL STRETCH TO THICKER WAISTS AND FIT FINE TO FINE WAISTS. I ALWAYS USE BIAS TO BELTS. SEE THIS ONE ON THAT PICTURE, BUCLE IN THE FRONT BUT WITH A SNAP BEHIND. HOPE IT HELPS!

Great idea!

wow, perfect! I love the fashions you´re creating!

that's a great job, you've done here! I know how much time it takes to create something worth looking at!

I am going back to look at some discussions I missed because I have more time now...

I really like the silver jumpsuits you have made with the split front! You certainly have got the fit right for the different doll bodies.

I someday want to try making a bodysuit similar to the Versace Versus Barbie's with two tone colors. I was thinking of using an old discarded swimsuit of my husband's for the stretch fabric. I'm not sure if I can do it.

THE RIGHT POINT FOR ELASTIC MATERIALS IS (FOR DOLLS) A LITTLE HARD TO FIND, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE NEEDLE YOU'LL HAVE TO USE, A Nº70 (SINGER) AND THE THREAD HAVE TO BE FINE 100% POLYESTER, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE WILL HAVE TO BE CUTTED JUST LIKE THE DOUBLE, THEN AFTER SEWED, YOU'LL HAVE TO CUT HALF OF IT. TO START, TRY WITH A ONE PIECE BUT WITH ORDINARY COTTON KNIT MATERIAL (A OLD T-SHIRT COTTON WORKS FINE), AFTER SEWED IT WILL BE LIKE STRETCHED (OPEN), SO AFTER SEW IT, IRON PRESS IT FIRST, CUT THE EXTRA SEAM BEFORE YOU GO TO THE NEXT STEP. I WANT TO UPLOAD A VIDEO TO MY YOUTUBE CHANEL BUT RIGHT NOW HAVE NO TIME.

thanks so much for the tips Marcelo!

Thank you for the advice. I'm not sure when I will attempt this project, but it is good to hear from someone with experience.

Wow!!! Working with stretch fabrics is so hard. Great work!! Hope I can do it too. Thanks for sharing
