Hi Lily :)

thanks for your advice. I just picked up some fabric and i'll starting on something this weekend. I dont own a sewing machine, so i'll have to work by hand.

im thinking of making something like a pleated skirt or trousers. maybe I'll look up a few templates.

hi Kenneth

I started sewing by hand as well (see the first entry of my blog )

http://domidoll.blogspot.com/

sewing by hand is time consuming, but in another hand it is also a more presise work for whom is not use to sewing machine.

the idea of a pleated skirt is very good. not tomuch sewing involved.

are you using plaid? in this case I recomand you to follow the fabric colored line to set the pleat regularely.

think about the model before starting (are living a flat panel in front? like kilt?

Iron flat the pleat even before stating to sew.

when the pleats are prepared attache them at the top then sew a belt.

depending of the fabric, if you choose a front panel type, you do not have to hem the vertical end, just fray it (like kilt) and you will have very nice fringes.

I do not know the precise size of your dolls  but I know places in the web were you can find free pattern for trouser let me know

tell me if you need more idea/pictures I will post them in Sew Much Fun,  for the other profit

Yes the pattern is quite varied.  I'll try to take a picture of the fabric itself today.  Yes I could definitely do 10 skirts and make then all look different!

cool!. whatever you do it's going to be fun :0) and as your fabric is quite different in pattern you can do like 10 skirts you will certainly have 10 different pattern on it right? ..and after this you can make a little "defilé" like the "haute couture" eh?
