Which Sindy did you get? I may have a few spares that I could sell (I need to check which I have first) if you are after a certain era?
I may have a couple of 80's and an 86 Blonde spare....

I got HASBRO SINDY MAGIC CURL DOLL MINT WITH BOX FROM 1994 because first of all it was buy it now, for a low price and then I have this thing for barbie from about 91 to 96. I do like some other dolls Jems from the 80's. I do like a few selected 80's or 70's, but Sindy changes are parrell to barbie. I don't know actually what this doll looks like because the photo, you can't see, but the doll looks more 90's. 90's are my least favorite decade in terms of what was going on in the world, but Barbie got bigger eyes in the 90's. Being an anime doll person, I like the bigger eyes. So, this doll is 94, but I can't actually have a good look until she comes. You should see my sailormoon collection. I should start a group for Sailormoon dolls, but I don't know if anyone would join it. I would have to try and find some people on anime boards to join. People look at Sailormoon and think not that great, there are many draw backs like the visor, but I have dressed them up and made them different. Well you can also show me the photos if you want or email me, I have a webpage and there an email contact. Its for tropical plants, but I added a tropical dolls section.

I should make it an all anime dolls, not just sailormoon, the problem is there are few anime dolls that are not sailormoon, however, there are a lot more action figures from anime, but they can not be dressed and the hair is molded. Boys collect figures and girls collect dolls, because the hair can be combed and the costumes changed. In fact, I have any other anime dolls that are not sailormoon.

Some Sindys are expensive - mainly early 70's TG's etc - but mid 80's girl are still cheap. Try sniping on auctions! I don't collect Sindy, buut I do deal in her quite a bit these days - she used t be SO cheap, now I prefer to deal in her to Barbie - vintage pirces have really collapsed.

There are some deals with vintage barbie, I still think she is too high, and lucky for me 90's dolls are cheaper then 80's. There are some bad shape vintage dolls, that are low, but good shape dolls and outfits are still at a premium. I know they used to be higher, because in the 90's everyone thought that the prices were going to go up and up, but like the housing market they collapsed. People were buying Barbies as in investment in the 90's, and I belong to three Barbie clubs one in San Francisco, one in the East Bay, and one in the South Bay, but now I can't find any Barbie clubs at all. LOL. :( There are only clubs for BJD or for Blythe, and I think her head is just too big. I can't get into Blythe. I really tired to like Bythe, but the prices are really high. I have seen Blythes, I would buy if I could get them for 10 dollars instead of 100's of dollars.

Well, during the early to mid 90's vintage prices were ridiculous - espcially for American girls and the 1600 outfits - and yes, some of the rare outfits are still expensive, although nothing like they were. A rare doll - like a German bendleg - will still fetch a lot of money so do things like side parts and #1's. Prices in the UK have always been higher, as there was so little stuff available here.
I don't follow 80's dolls, or 90's - I used to sell them, but got rid of almost everything in 1999, when I saw how things were going. Personally, I don't think prices will ever go up again so I'm glad I did that.
Hmmm - doll clubs - I used to run the barbie club here - gave it up in 2000, as it was impossible to get anyone to do anything or contribute anything for the magazine - it was a national club so the magazine was important. The club is still running, but does very little. I belong to the Doll Club of Great Britain, but it's mainly antique dolls - I enjoy it, as I am interested in all dolls, but more and more in antique and hard plastics, rather than fashion dolls. Many of the members are very elderly, but so knowledgeable, but quite exclusive - I'm not sure why they let me in! They have good attendance at meetings and great speakers - people from the auction houses and so on.
( I remember Blythe being £15 - and no one wanted them....I like them well enough, I have a lot of Blythe clones to sell at the moment...)

That would be fun an antique doll club, I would learn a lot, but I don't know how to find any in San Francisco. Dolls are more fun if you can talk about them with friends. I have seen some dolls for almost 1,000 dollars just last night, but sometimes the seller but an unrealistic price in case a millionare happens to want that doll, but it may take years to sell or never sell. I stopped buying new barbie in 1997, because they changed the face and body in such a way, that I did not really like her, and now what I don't like much is the new eyelashes and eyes. I don't know if my 90's dolls will be valueable. It comes from people from the 90's being older and wanting thier childhood dolls, so it could be many years if ever. But, 90's clothes are still better made in 2000's clothes. But, I am buying them because I like them, not as an investment.

These auctions are a matter of luck. You keep looking and looking for the doll and it's very rare and pricey, and a month later you buy it like Buy It Now at a very reasonable price.
I got mine exactly that way, a pretty Sindy & GoGo (1993) MIB.
