Let me know when you find a cheap Dawn's Groovy Bedroom from Checkerboard Toys lol ;). Shipping from the US is expensive enough... Don't think I've ever seen those on eBay in Europe.

Ok, but I think the email alerts only remind me when it is in the USA. I have one out for checkerboard, but the dolls I really want are the gold or the silver ones. Those don't seem to go out. I like repos in general, but the problem is they don't make repros of the dolls I like most. Then when Mattel makes a repo, they do something hideous to them to make them look worse. For example real Francie cute, repro Francie not very cute.

Yeah to be honest I don't think I'll ever find the bedroom for less than $20... I'll keep it in mind for when I'm a working lady hehe! Because shipping cost will be around $25 as well and then there's customs...

 

I'll keep an eye on eBay myself as well ;), but I doubt these will ever sell in Europe, I don't think the were ever sold here.

I don't even know what the checkerboard furniture looks like, so they must be pretty rare. I know how annoying it can be. I wanted this one anime doll for like over 10 years, and it never comes around, because it was sold only in Japan. If I had ebay Japan, I could get it, but I have to use a bidding service and the fees and shipping are huge.

Yeah it sucks. I'm happy I've arranged things with Lilly now, she bought two dolls in Spain and sent them to me, they're on their way now! Even though Spain is closer than Japan, there are these stubborn salesmen/women who just refuse to send their stuff outside their own countries, which can be very frustrating as well.

 

But Dawn's Checkerboard Groovy Bedroom is on eBay at the moment, twice actually, from the same seller. See item no. 350415994171.

I spaced that out. I had seen it, but since it's a doll and some clothes, it just did not click in my mind, and the photos is burned out, I can't really see what the furniture is like.

Well you can tell that the bed has a "lovely" green/purple bedding haha, and that it comes with a little padded stool! Good enough info for me :)

I can not even begin to say how annoying it can be. In this case, I used to know a bidding service for ebay japan. I went on there and I saw lots of dolls, I bought one item, but the prices was so expensive, I did not use it again. I did not even know how much the total would be. So, that was years ago, and I can't even find that bidding service that way over priced. If I try to find a japan to USA bidding service, all I get is one for yahoo japan. I am sure yahoo auctions won't even have anything at all. If you try to find japan ebay bidding you are hijacked by the yahoo japan service. It pro misses ebay, but then once you go there, it says yahoo auctions. It is false advertising.

So the outcome is, I can't even look on ebay japan to see if that doll ever  comes up there, and the doll is rare besides. I put her photo in my Flickr album. So, there is really nothing to do, but hope the doll comes to eBay USA, or just give up for another 15 years. The doll is Marie Antoinette The Rose of Versailles. Somethings are just not possible to get. You are lucky to at least have hope and some success with the Spain purchase.

I have just seen a checkboard boxed Macy for as low as 3 dollars, but it is in the UK, and it may go up in price.
