Nostalgia: clothes I made in my childhood

Started by Evelien. Last reply by Valerie Suwanseree May 17, 2012. 3 Replies

My mother recently found back all my Pams' clothing, both original fashions and homemade stuff from my childhood. I decided to dedicate an afternoon to styling my dolls using my homemade, well, crap :P. Cause to be honest, the clothes are terribly…Read More

Fitting furniture

Started by Evelien. Last reply by Jaz Feb 13, 2012. 13 Replies

I'm trying to decorate my dollhouse full of Pams, but it's só hard. I love regular dollhouse stuff but it's all made for a 1:12 scale, whereas 6" dolls are, what, 1:10? They're slightly too big for regular dollhouse furniture. It's not impossible,…Read More

Found Dawn Clone looks like real Dawn

Started by Tropical Thought. Last reply by Lynda Van Etten Oct 2, 2011. 2 Replies

Item number 270705688794, looks like real dawn and not Pippa, because dawn has the darkest eye makeup. Dawn's eye make up is too black, and too much mascara, like this doll. It said Plymouth, but I have never heard of that name, can someone tell me…Read More

Found flaw in Glitter Girls Dolls

Started by Tropical Thought. Last reply by Tropical Thought May 16, 2011. 3 Replies

I got some Glitter Girls on ebay out of the box, these ones came with a ring and wore gowns of silver, gold, green, red and so on, and had the names amber, ruby etc made in 1982 I think. But the dolls all either had an ugly bubble that held the legs…Read More

What do you look for when you're buying dolls online? Do you prefer NRFB or in need of some TLC, or both? I personally started out buying all the Pamela Love dolls (and other Ocean Toys dolls) I could find. I ended up with loads and loads of bodies…Read More

This the best dawn site for all things dawn. The checkerboard dawn site, I can't find right now, at all, but I did see it.

P.S.2: And the best links about Pam aren't even in English, they're in Russian or Polish :P. Thank heavens for Google translate.

P.S.: There wasn't much info about Pamela Love online anyway before I launched my website. All the info on there came from my own memory, and now that I'm buying boxed dolls I never knew existed, I'm learning that some of the info on my webpage is wrong, haha!

The only good links that exist on Pams are listed above. Other links include pretty pictures in Flickr galleries, but that's it. Even Simba doesn't mention Pam on their website at all, they gave me permission to register the pamela-love.com domain quite easily, they don't care about her :P

Checkerboard reissued Dawn for a few years in the late 90's, but they stopped and or went of business. They made fashions, but don't know what else, there is a website devoted to checkboard dawns. Topper made the original Dawn. Many other companies made Dawn like dolls, there are almost too many to count. The dolls are almost the same looking, but I assume they made the checkerboard dolls better, so they won't decay as fast, but I don't have any of them.

They're random pics I found online Simon, so I can't really take credit for it ;). I needed something pretty fast, perhaps I'll replace them with some of my own soon, but I don't own any Dawn dolls to take pics of.

TT, it's hard indeed. I'll always find more Pam Anderson love dolls than Pam Love dolls. I always include the words 'Simba' or 'Ocean toys' in my search phrase, but I still get the occasional blowup doll on my screen :P

Hey TT, I've got a question about those Checkerboard dolls. I'm looking for fitting furniture for my Pams and I found a 'Dawn and her Groovy Bedroom' from Checkerboard, not from Topper. What's that about..? Are they different brands who sell pretty much the same doll with the same name?! I don't get it :P.

I just looked up Pamela Love on ebay and found no dolls, so I went to google image search and I found Pamela Anderson Blow Up Dolls. LOL. She must be hard to find.

I have not been buying 6 inch size dolls, over all in terms of dawn or dawn clones, but I have seen some that are so cute. I do have a set of small sailormoons the amazoness ones. Irwin made a  6 inch sailormoon, but she is not very nice. I really like those ones called Lil miss fashion and also tina mod is cute. I like the checkerboard dolls, but I kind of missed the boat on them. I never knew they were out there, and Dawn is expensive she is in good shape. There could be wires inside that cause all the green spots. I see the checkerboard ones some times on ebay, but not the ones I want, at the price I want. I am worried is got started with 6 inch, I would be in so much trouble, so I am not starting until I see one I really like.

I only found out about Pippa and Dawn a year ago and I own one Pippa - just because I had to have at least one :P - but I figured I had better start a group about all 6 inch dolls than just about Pamela... I'd get lonely ;)
