Hi Dollobservers,

The theme for May is classic 'Monochrome', in all shades of black white and grey. Your dolls must be dressed for the theme or posed in a monochrome setting. Please note: photos turned into black and white by computer wizardry will not be accepted :)

Add your 'Monochrome' themed doll pics to this discussion using the 'image' icon on the far left of the discussion tool bar.

The 'rules' of the theme photo competition are very simple:

  • Your photo must contain a doll or dolls
  • Make sure the photo relates to the spirit of the relevant month's theme
  • Members should enter one photo only per theme (although you are free to add more but please highlight which particular photo you would like to go forward into the competition)
  • Make sure to have fun!

Remember the Prize now stands at a whopping $50!

Thanks badvalentine, Simon, Nilsa and Lilly! So excited about this month's contest!  I've said it before and I'll say it again--the entries this month have been very, very good. Congratulations everyone!

Absolutely adore this shot, can't...stop....looking!

I am really enjoying all the entries this month.

Here is my entry:

"Twice as Nice"

They say that an encounter with your doppelgänger is an ill omen. Perhaps even a portent of death. The idea of a "double walker" has been explored in many works of literature, theatre and cinema.  A recent example is the film "Black Swan", in which Natalie Portman's character sees her doppelgänger on several occasions, particularly when she is feeling insecure.

In my photo, we see two Barbie® dolls with the "Diva" face mold, both sharply dressed in black-and-white structured suits. They run into each other at the lobby of an elegant boutique hotel, and for a moment, they appraise each other.

 Right back at you, Deb!

Okay, well...here's my submission.  :)

I call it "What's puzzling you?!" or "Drama at the Disco".

I had three others I liked too...and they're in my albums but this was my favorite.

Hope you enjoy! Hugs, Deb

I also love this very dramatic photo!

Here is my entry; it's my first time.  What's happened is Eric Manning, DEA agent and mega millionaire from Baytown, has been staking out Octopussy's lair for quite some time now because of her illegal dealings in about anything wrong.  He's been watching Senators and big business men come and go, but this time they got sloppy.  Eric decided to go in under cover to buy some weapons and she took the bait.  She wasn't going to go down easy so Eric had to play hardball right back at her.  You know evil never wins; especially when Eric Manning is on the case.

(something is chopping off the right side and I don't know what to do about it; let me know if I need to please)

My poor attempt at "Monochrome"

I hope it's up to par with the rest of the entries.
