I don't know about you but I have found the this year's Paralympics one of the most inspiring, humbling, exciting and down right entertaining world sporting events I have ever seen! I was so pleased when Mary Beth contacted me to suggest that we celebrate it with this month's theme!
As Mary Beth says, "I'm sure most of us have dolls with missing limbs, or you can simulate blindness with a simple pair of shades and a straw cane.We did an Olympics theme, why not a Paralympics theme?"
And why not indeed!
...
BE SURE TO READ FIRST - SOME NEW RULES AND GUIDANCE!
The 'rules' of the theme photo competition are very simple:
The winning photo voted by members will now win a whopping $50 PRIZE!! Plus the winning pic will spend a month featured on our front page and be the header of our Facebook Fan Page too!
When replying to comments containing pics be sure to delete the pic which gets added to your reply in order to minimise the confusion that repeat pics can cause. Many thanks for your care and attention :)

Reach for the stars.
here is my entry for the September challenge.
my friend Camille is Canadian, she lost her left leg in a car accident She is training very hard, encouraged by the results of the lovely Canadian swimmer, Summer Mortimer who won the gold two time at the actual Paralympics games.
Camille will reach for the stars in Rio, she will reach for the gold.
Camille is a Kennedy from My scene Mattel.

Thanks Mary-Beth, it was a really great idea. the "Handicapables" (I love this appellation) are all part of us, and we surely can easily be part of them. I have great respect for their strength and determination.
dolly cheers

Permalink Reply by Rone J.M. on September 23, 2012 at 23:21 I hope I did this right?! Janay use to be an Olympic runner but a tragic accident caused her to lose her leg, but that does not stop her. After years of rehablitation an training she is now gearing up for the 2016 Olympics. Strength, Endurance an Determination is the key to THE GOLD!

Great photos, Lily and Veronica!
I like the patriotic jacket.
I honestly could not find time to take a photo for this interesting topic last month, so I was thrilled to find the deadline had been graciously extended and I got busy today!
This photo is called "Let your spirit soar!"
PJ was born with a deformed foot and only 9 fingers, but early on a good teacher saw how she loved to dance and encouraged her to train for rythmic gymnastics.
