I have an ongoing love of all things Victorian. It may be because of growing up in the southeast, and living around and in old homes I became accustomed to antique furniture as an 'everyday' thing and having a mother who loved modern - which I…Read More

I love dioramas.

Comment by Marilyn Allen on March 27, 2012 at 18:05 Good job on all your rooms! I don't collect the 12" dolls so I had not looked at this before. I can tell you really enjoy creating the environments and decorating the habitats!

Comment by Deb Buckner on March 27, 2012 at 12:26 Thank you all so very much for your lovely comments! I am tickled pink that you all enjoy it so and I sure wish you would/could come play at my house! This is a combination of the original vintage Barbie Fashion Shop (recovered with scrapbook paper for a modernized look) - combined with the Integrity Toys Refresh and Renew Trunk. I took the R&R trunk apart and have the different sections placed around the Barbie Fashion Shop. :) To Deborah - the display case you're asking about was an original piece from the vintage Barbie Fashion Shop. I've seen them sold separately on eBay before quite reasonably and I agree it would make a great bakery counter as well! To Susan - the other display cases are from the 1982 Barbie Dream Store. I recovered them with scrapbook paper. :) The "lazy susan" shoe tree is a 2004 Hallmark Barbie Shoe Tree ornament. Oh yes, this is from years of collecting, that's for sure. But with it set up all the time, it serves two purposes...I always know where to find my accessories...and the dolls have their shopping fun! Thanks to ALL for the amazing compliments, you have definitely made my day! There are several more pics on my Flickr account if you'd like to see more detail...they can be found here:

Comment by Jaz on March 26, 2012 at 22:32 Great setting...so much detail...well done Deb

I agree Deb! This diorama is breathtaking!! In fact it looks more like a film set than a diorama for dolls. Brilliant work. And I'm with Susan, lets all pile round your house and play :)
Comment by Deborah Steinmetz on March 26, 2012 at 12:50 OH MY WORD!!!! That is probably the most amazing boutique set up I've seen to date! The details are stunning and everything is perfect! I have a question about one of the display cases in the first picture. The middle one that has a perfume bottle on the top shelf. Is that a manufactured piece or one you made. I think something like that would make a fantastic bakery counter for my gals.
Beautiful shop!!!
