Victorian, 1800's dioramas in 1:6 scale...

Started by Lisa Neault. Last reply by Nilsa M. Donelan Mar 30. 6 Replies

I have an ongoing love of all things Victorian. It may be because of growing up in the southeast, and living around and in old homes I became accustomed to antique furniture as an 'everyday' thing and having a mother who loved modern - which I…Read More

reposting to get rid of extra spaces:

This is my very first post of a picture so I hope it works. Few weeks ago I worked on a diorama for my silkstone Lingerie #6.

My new bedding set is from Anna, who makes custom bedding by order.

Her online store is Somethings Old, Somethings New.

http://www.somethingsoldsomethingsnew.com/index.html

She is part of the Couturedollshop.com and her shop is on DESIGNER DRIVE section.

I wanted to give an African/rustic look to the "bedroom" and I worked with what I already had at home. Hope you like it.
Some details I added:

The wall on the left side is a piece of cardboard covered with a place mat.

The masks are temporarily attached to a piece of cloth which I think is intended for kitchen use (in real life but not here).

The "sculpture" comes from a dollar store type; it is placed on a coaster.

The jewelry box I have no idea what it is. I added a necklace.

The "half" table where these are on, is a jewelry box.

The candles are from an old set from Mattel. I added the glow to the "flames" with my photo software.

The silver tray with the candles is from a set for dollhouses; the black chest used to be part of my kids toys (from a pirate set).

The miniature Japanese lantern as well as the table, I got when I was living in Okinawa-Japan for less than a $1 each.

The wall behind the bed is foam board covered with scrapbook paper and a dollhouse trim painted white(it wasn't originally for this room, that's why it is white).

good night!!

Nilsa

Don't tell Barbie but Veronique even stole Barbie's dress too

Your Veronique P is gorgeous, Simon. May I ask which one she is? Is her face original. She looks great on that sofa. Barbie would DIE to see her there on Barbie's sofa, lol.

I've been vanquished time and time again trying to obtain the gorgeous OOAK creations of a certain EBay store. They make to-die-for living room furniture sets complete with upholstered couches, rugs, floral arrangements, drink carts, the works.  I once tripled the existing bid to $90, thinking I'm bound to win this one, only to have someone snipe me at the last second with a bid of $1 more. Defeat makes me determined & inventive, so now I'm setting out to duplicate the unobtainable.  I have no experience, but lots of imagination. My next project is to create the blue oriental floral upholstered living room and gold filigree bar I so painfully lost out on. Have fabric in hand & am amassing raw material furniture that I think they started out with.  Wish me luck! :D
