I got a doll from Korea, it could be Barbie, but I don't have access to the book Barbie in Japan. I can't look up the doll. I posted about the doll on the Barbie forum, that she is need of total reroot, now the seller has offered to take her back. I don't know what to do. I would be helpful if someone can look her up in an Asian Barbie book. I am allergic to the hair which was washed in fabric softener, that is scented. I soaked the hair in baking soda and the smell would not come out, at all. I keep smelling the hair to see if the smell is going away, and it give an allergy attack each time I test smell to see if I am getting any improvement. This is a doll in need of serious help. Sorry the photo posted too big, I have to resize it.

By the way, cut off all the hair, and then I cut the head open, because it had been glued together in a circle, on top, so I cut that open, so I can work with the hair, I did some testing with my little pony hair. It takes a while to get doll hair ordered, and now I lost my needle. I have to go to Berkeley to get new needle first, and get the hair ordered. I wanted to use red white and blue, but I think purple is a safer choice. I can't figure out how to order the multi colors from dolly hair. I emailed for guidance. But, I am very encouraged, I will post a photo when she new hair. The only problem is I have to glue the head back together, after the re root and I am not sure what kind of glue to use. I am taking ideas for color suggestions, the eye shadow is purple, but the lips are red. So red, or purple or something that blends with that, brown would be my last choice.

A very unknown clone. This clone has no marking or even made in china or hong kong. I got her on ebay and her hair is bad shape, so I thought I could try my first attempt at rerooting on her. I think she is the 90's doll style.

The doll in the peach dress was found on flickr, and that is a teen talker with the peach earring in the outfit that is mostly blue.

The next superstar era doll is shown in the original outfit, but I got her on ebay. She has strange plus signs in her eyes instead of stars like the superstar doll.

Three more 90's

blonde barbies, the one in peach is a talking barbie, the one in pink could be ski fun, the one in yellow could be fun to dress.

On the subject of the Petra clone, I did get the Petra. The price was very good, but she has hip melt. I was thinking if you store these dolls in underwear or clothes and the clothes melt into the plastic that could be just as harmful as storing the dolls in their shoes, and having the shoes melt on to the feet. Many unknown dolls are clones, and have cheaper plastic which creates more challenges for storage and preservation. It's hip melt, I was told, but it looks like the legs fell off at the hips and it was glued back together with some kind of flesh colored glue that made a gloppy mess. Elmer's dries clear, so you can hardly notice it at all. Then I read on about com that Elmer's is also bad, and don't know why. I used it and have not seen any problems.

I did more research and now I think the date on the photo 2008 was when it was copied, because the de young opened in 2005, so now I think the blond neo barbie is fashion fever eBay item number 140422294604, or at least it look very similar to this doll. The Happy Birthday doll has some glitter eye shadow, I thought was incorrect. The biggest problem was the number of fashion fever dolls inside tubes that would not photography, and the people who refused to use close up mode (the little flower icon) on their camera and produced a blurry photo, that upon being enlarged only got more distorted. I contacted ebay about this matter and they suggested the photo be taken at 1000 by 1000 pixels, then using the automatic re-sizer that comes on ebay. This will created the icon photo, and when the doll is enlarged or zoomed, the 1000 by 1000 will be visible. This is a good tip. I won't buy dolls from blurry photos, because you never know what flaws are hidden, such as lip rub or faded makeup.

The next Barbie up for ID did come from a thrift store. I am sure because a child has chewed up her feet. Her hair had to have a treatment, I think I used pine-sol. I don't remember why, but ended up coming looking fairly decently.
