I got my Millenium Ball Tyler on EBay, but she was nude. I tried several times to buy her outfit on eBay, but always get outbid... So I went and got me some silver lame and made my own!It was frustrating! And it's not perfect. But from a distant…Read More

Comment by Anne Field on January 8, 2012 at 14:30 It's beautiful! Did you use a pattern for the skirt (it's just what I am looking for) or did you make it up? I love the overall look.
Comment by Kate Fosk on January 8, 2012 at 13:43 Got to agree about the fabric for the black/white blouse, scale is perfect! Wow so much to look at.

Comment by Anne Field on January 7, 2012 at 23:08 lol! I just tried her sitting down and she popped her snap! I think I will get a new one on there (this one was a reused one from an old shirt) or maybe switch it to Velcro.
All the clothes were machine sewn or I would still be working on them. I think she needs a black suit as well. Maybe with the same black and white shirt and possibly a skirt. Does anyone have a pattern/instructions for a basic pencil skirt? All I have are super short mini shirts or ruffled skirts.
Comment by Michelle Barousse on January 7, 2012 at 20:49 Wonderful outfit. Did you machine or hand sew it? How are the pants when "she" sits down. I love the fit of my pattern standing but hate the slide down when sitting.
that scale for the shirt is so perfect!! !! excellent combination, very professional like suite + the soft side of the lavender color .

Comment by Anne Field on January 7, 2012 at 19:04 I was watching TV last night and the suit the detective was wearing was an odd combination but I really wanted to make it in doll scale. I didn't have any of the correct materials so I made a suit in lavender purple glitter fabric (with pieces from Simplicity 4702) and then the shirt underneath is from black cotton with white squares and I used a pattern from Simplicity 4719). I added the collar and lapels to the suit jacket and tailored everything because it was far to loose and sloppy looking. For her photo shoot my model (who does not yet have a name!) wore shoes and carried a purse from one of the Barbie basics set.
I still have hundred of patterns and was using them more or less like this, part for the top, part for the sleeve, and often as .".I can" for the skirt.
I sold them in this time, (you can still see them on my blog http://domidoll.blogspot.com/ on the first entries)
I did have the idea in my mind and was going with my ability, some time it was not at all the result, but until it pleased me that was ok and I had good surprises. but how many did I through away :)
