You did a super job on the "London Calling" doll. That is so clever to make the handbag with card and a crochet strap and the plastic bag raincoat looks excellent! Bravo!

the rain coat (if you didn't already guessed)  was made with a  freezer plastic bag.  I left the white bands in front (they are suppose to be written on :)  ) to give some interest .

I was surprise to see how easy my surger worked on such soft plastic.

no pattern involved for this .

the bag flat on the table...the doll lying on top of it and.. cut cut cut ..

a little something for the neckline,

open the front .

I made the hood by eyes cut 2 X, then taped them (with transparent simple school tape) (this barely show on top of the head

the shoulder were already close as they were the natural bag fold

first I sew the hood to the neck line curve

finished the sleeve end with the surger stitch

sew the side (I willingly let the seam of a garment on the right side.

then surger stitch all around the front/bottom/hood front

a little ribbon around the neck

and 2 square pieces (from left over bag) finished with surger stitch to make the pocket

this is it 1 totally transparent to show off what is important, and indeed totally waterproof  rain coat

her bag is carton card  I printed a union jack and glued it in place. folded the lid. and crocheted  the strap with red cotton tread.
