Comment by Anne Field on January 15, 2012 at 15:06 Thanks Deborah and Lilly! The woman I got the fabric from sent me back and email and said she was very pleased I could find use of the fabric she sent as sending anyone anything can really be hit or miss. So it was a good sewing day all around. And I want to thank you all here for being so kind and welcoming. I am very very new to the fashion doll hobby and coming into a new hobby is a little intimidating. But I have found some great people recently
whoa Anne, I am totally in accord with Deborah, very neat fabric and well done outfit!

Comment by andy sorensen on January 13, 2012 at 22:00 feeling inspired today, i think i'll work on a gown for my new sewing project...(possibly for the red carpet challenge?)
Comment by andy sorensen on January 13, 2012 at 20:54 quilting stores are the best places to find fabric! there is a great place not to far from my house that i LOVE to find cool fabrics at....
yes this is often a great choice to go to the quilting section, it is often (if not always)cotton and the print are small. quilting is not popular around here so I cannot find a lot, I still find plenty of tinny dotted cotton (for the "Sevillane" dresses)
Comment by Anne Field on January 13, 2012 at 19:27 I find some great fabrics with in-scale print in the quilting section of the fabric store. The fabric is also usually really stable so it is easy to work with.
