@Anne I found the fabri tac on ebay (UK) thanks for the tip! Looks like it might work for accessories as well. Last year I resorted to cutting up the necks of balloons to make tiny elastic bands to hold home made handbags shut and shoes on my doll's feet as the glue I had wasn't strong enough and I am somewhat frightened of super glue (images of standing in queue at A&E with doll glued to hand
)
Thanks Marilyn.

Comment by Anne Field on January 10, 2012 at 12:24 I use fabri-tac glue. It's thick so doesn't leak through fabric as much as other glues do and it grabs really quickly so you don't have to hold the piece for so long. Also when you put the glue on a piece of fabric, spread it with your finger and wait a few seconds (so it dries a bit) then when you stick the pieces together you will most likely not have any show-through.
Comment by Kate Fosk on January 10, 2012 at 9:26 That's a great idea Anne, loving your pictures!. What kind of glue do you use? I've tried fabric glue in the past and I had trouble with it showing through, or using less it wouldn't stick.
the idea of cluing the collar and lapel a pure genius!! bulk being always a concern for this part !! very well done ..
Comment by andy sorensen on January 10, 2012 at 3:43 nice! as tim gunn would say, whatever it takes to "make it work!".
Comment by Anne Field on January 10, 2012 at 2:58 I did cheat a tiny bit on the jacket. When I work in 1:9 scale (8"dolls) they are too small to sew everything without adding a lot of bulk. So some things are faked. The collar and lapels are clever folding and gluing of scraps. The basic design is pretty easy though. Your work is lovely so I am sure you won't have a problem.
Comment by andy sorensen on January 10, 2012 at 0:11 thanks, i usually don"t use patterns (iv'e always preferred to "color outside the lines" but i would love that jacket pattern, as i have problems trying to make them...
