Superstar History

It all started in 1977 when Mattel introduced it's new Barbie face and body mold with the now iconic Superstar Barbie. The new face was angelic, with beautiful wide eyes, half opened mouth and dimples. The second this Barbie cam out the world was mesmerized and so the face mold that defined Barbie was born.

This is probably the most recognized Barbie face and millions of kids have grown up with it. It is still used today and hopefully many, many years more.

I'm so happy! Yesterday I received my very own Nurse Whitney. This is by far one of the best Superstar era dolls I've ever owned. I'll take some pics later.
