This is the latest pattern I tried. I am pretty happy with the results.

Comment by Melody Smith (Mel) on May 16, 2011 at 15:29 I have not used the books by Hazel McMahon, haven't seen them actually. I have two Gene patterns I bought last year at the October Crossroads Doll Show. I got them for $4 each. Other than that it's the magazines or anything I can find on the internet for free.
I do not have any Tonner dolls but would love to have a Tyler and the dude that goes with her(forgot his name!).
I did sew one dress from a Tyler pattern and it was too big for Gene in the bust and waist so I am trying again having cut the pattern smaller.
I am unfamiliar with the Russel William you mentioned. Tonner? I need to do more research!
do you have Tonner's? (they have similar body ib hight but usually the pattern as to be re-adjust from Gene to Tyler)
one of my girl is desperately waiting for a Russell William (the first one with this gorgeous face and dark skin, not the honey skin ) I think she is depressing :(
yes you'r right about those magazine patterns I make basically all my "Gang" outfits from patterns I find here and there, Haute doll being one of my source. My Hubby offers me a couple of years ago the 2 patterns books by Hazel McMahon

have you already used them?
I know pretty well how to sew but I am less than basic about patterns and those book are my bible
as my gang member got strong personalities, I have to make for each one a proper and individual garde-robe, right now I am dressing Mercedes (velma Kelly , serie Chicago from R. Tonner) and as Mercedes just came back from Seville she now want Sevillane dress!! so ... :)
dolly cheers
Comment by Melody Smith (Mel) on May 15, 2011 at 0:54 Thank you! I got the pattern out of a Haute Doll magazine I had from the library. It may have been the October issue of last year or newer. Anyway the pattern paper I copied out of the magazine says WWW.DOLLREADER.COM.
That's one good thing about doll magazines, you can find patterns that aren't readily available otherwise.
you sur can be happy about it !! you did a great job! what pattern did you used?
