Comment by David Mycheals Maciorkowski on June 12, 2012 at 8:18 PJ's prettier than Midge. They created Midge to be more the girl next door because parents complained that Barbie was too pretty and perfect. And some also said she was a little too sexual believe it or not.So Midge was created to keep everyone happy.I do like vintage Midge though.
Comment by Tammy C. Tagesen on June 11, 2012 at 20:15 I collect every PJ I find. I just think she's so cute. I know it's strange but I don't feel the same about Midge! Probably, because I played with mod era as a kid.
Comment by David Mycheals Maciorkowski on June 11, 2012 at 16:35 No I didn't.The headpiece came with a Swapping Styles Fashionista Barbie from last year. Its a newer Barbe line where you can swap heads.Great idea becuase the heads retail inexpensive and you can have a different doll just by changing the head.PJ is one of my all time fav vintage Barbies. Her face is made from the Midge head mold,Barbies first BF introduced in 1963.I also love Malibu PJ from the 70's which I have in a couple of other pics. She's made from the Steffie head mold which is very popular with collectors.
