ThankI like this doll a lot. She has a very sweet expression. Besides, her features are so multicultural. Just like her outfit HaHaHa!!

It's wonderful to see this Kayla doll (I have the same one in my collection) in a splendid traditional costume! It is interesting to learn more about it from your comments too. One thing I love about dolls is when they showcase traditional clothing.

Aah! Isabel, don't know how to start... I know Lucero from her singing....no, wait, it is for her "novelas".... or probably for both... o because she was married to Mijares...? LOL

Our pollera uses a 'rebozo' too.

In Panama, most people from the middle east are called "turcos" (turks) - even if they are hebrews - lol. Also all those with asian looks are called, "chinos" or "chinas" - doesn't matter if they Koreans, Japanese, Indonesian, etc. Funny

Well, it was in fact related to a wellknown girl's story during Colonial Time. But she was in fact a Hindu girl. But you know at that times Asiatic people were not very common in my country and since most cargo ships were from China people tended to refer to people with asiatic features or customs as "Chino" or "China". It's funny how traditions in the end do not really belong to a single nation.. Oh... and thanks fot the tip about the belt tip. I tried that before but I wanted to make it more like a working regular outfit., The "rebozo" (name for that shawl is used for gala outfit. and...somhow it rested focus to the bow.tie Maybe it was too wide. I'll try again with the shawl. Thanks.
By the way.... how come you know about "Lucero"? ha,ha,ha!!!

thanks Isabel. I heard about "China Poblana" before but didn't know about the origins. I always thought it was some Chinese girl from history.

Well, it's from a center region of Mexico called Puebla. The outfit is knows as "China Poblana" because of the mixture of cultures during Colonial times, Asiatic (not necessarily from China) and Natives. They blended the colorful Asian fabrics in the skirt representing the Mexican flag with the native embroideries in the blouse. Thanks for the comments.
