Dominique Bertrand said… Hi Deb,
Congrats on getting Apple, she is a very stunning girl. I just can't decide on my first one. I'd rather get a fullset one for my first Syb. I have been looking at nearly every Syb photo on Flickr, comparing the girls different makeups and looking at retailers and eBay to get a sense of the market.
Of the available ones at Superfrock only Quantra appeals to me although that wig would have to go! She has that 60's sex kitten look to her and looks younger and softer than her more heavily made up sisters. Sinatra is also an option, her clothes and shoes are great and she has a very dramatic makeup, maybe too dramatic. I also looked at Neurotica over at MarlB but decided she wasn't for me although her clothes are lovely.
The ideal one would be Slipper on a Gen 3:2 body, beautiful soft makeup and lovely body, but there is no such animal. I don't know if I should wait and see what the next offerings from Superfrock are going to be, though I have no idea what their normal release schedules are like. I would like a versatile one for my first as I plan on dressing her and changing her wigs.
I'm sure deboxing one will be a treat. I think she is going to feel like a BJD, substantial yet delicate with the lovely feel resin has. I'm afraid that my first one won't be my last, when I first got into BJD I thought I would never have more than one or two and I have 20 of them by now all of them beautiful and special. One thing is for sure, whichever one I end up with she is going to get lots of camera time.
Hello ! Great Photo's ! You Have Some Wild Hair Happening Here... Love It !!!
Dominique Bertrand said… Hi Deb, I usually go by DominiqueB in forums, but Dominique or Dom is fine, who wants to type such a long name amyways .I'm still undecided as to which Sybarite will be my first, I'm having a hard time choosing. I know that she will have to be one of the Gen 3 ones, as I find their hipline more aesthetically pleasing and probably easier to draft patterns for. I will certainly visit the Superdoll group. I have been resisting Sybarites for a couple of years, but I give up I want one, my 1/4 and 1/3 scale BJD girls are very pretty but none of them has that high fashion model body that I want to sew for.
