Old Barbies: what is Vintage?

Dear Barbie fans,Sorry if my question may sound a tad silly but that's really something that makes me confused at the moment. Which Barbie dolls are called "vintage" now? It's understood that everything before 1970-s is vintage but what about later dolls? What about Superstar Barbie and her gang? It's 2011 now and how many years should I subtract from 2011 to find out whether my Barbie is "vintage" or not? Or is it all about the difference between Superstar Barbie doll image and earlier concept…See More

Profile Information

The dolls that I collect are:
Barbie & friends. I also buy random fashion dolls that I like (Mooqla, Hasbro Sindy, Blythe, Tiny Kitty, KC Doll)
My favourite doll in my collection is:
Really hard to pick one :)
The reason I love dolls is:
I've been loving the world in miniature since childhood, and a "real" Barbie was every little girl's dream in post-Soviet Russia. Most of them have left their passion behind but I haven't.

Yesterday I received my tenth Steffie-face doll by Mattel. It was Cool Times Midge.

The first was of course Ultra Hair Whitney.

A Gay Doll For Kids? The big lies of the press...

It's deaf night in my city now so I'll just quote my own post from the DOLLS website that was dedicated to Andy Mills doll from Robert Tonner Doll Company.

There's a big buzz in Russian news now. And it's not about a gay doll from Robert Tonner. It's about a gay Andy Mills doll from MATTEL!! A toy gay doll for kids was somehow invented by Russian journalists, and now hundreds of men and women are moaning online: "how could they?! WHO are they making our kids play…

Too bad. Hehe, I follow a forum topic about Pamela Love... on a Russian doll forum! Every time somebody replies, I translate their post from Russian to English using Babelfish or something else, so I can reply in English again :P. It's fun!

Thanks for the welcome Katie, to be honest I only know a few people (and I only know them because I met them online :P) who collect the same dolls as I do, the 6" Pamela Love dolls by Simba. :D I love them! Is your friend a member here?
