Jem Wave #2 Dolls, Tulabelle, Funny Face and More Unveiled by Integrity Toys

The Saturday just gone saw the first online unveiling of Integrity Toys 2013 Doll lines exclusively for their W Club members. In a break with tradition, and in response to member feedback, the online unveiling is being broken down into 4 unveiling a spread over the year. By doing it this way the hope is that there isn’t a ‘peaking too soon’ effect with all the new dolls for the year being revealed at once. Also, and perhaps more importantly, it gives the fans a chance to budget for the dolls they want over the year rather than the annual scramble to preorder dolls which wont actually come to market until the end of the year.

After the initial introduction, big Integrity names such as David Buttry and Alain Trembely were given the chance to introduce their dolls and explain more details and give some background to the design process. Perhaps the most eagerly awaited new line was Integrity’s latest foray into the 16″ scale world, Tulabelle, a teen fashion blogger, who just happens to be none other than Poppy Parker’s granddaughter! Tulabelle is a brand new head scuplt (channelling Poppy me thinks) and shares the Teen Poppy 16″ body. I think she is rather gorgeous!

With her cool edgy look and the deliciously varied hair colours, styles and face ups between the dolls I’m sure she will prove popular amongst collectors. In fact the Yeti to Wear ( great name BTW) Dolls appears to have sold out on pre-orders already at several retailers.  This despite a lot of chatter in the forums concerning reluctance to make the jump to the larger dolls. Something which has seen the FR16 dolls somewhat slow to shift perhaps.

Other highlights included the wave #2 Jem and the Holograms dolls! Logically the new dolls are the three remaining Holograms, Kimber, Aja and Shana (although I can’t wait to see the Misfits!). All three come with highly detailed accessories and authentic outfits. Shana’s hair is a marvel! However for me it is Kimber that I just had to order as she is my favourite Hologra. Well a hologram who isn’t Jem anyway!

A new line of Dynamite Girls called London Calling was also unveiled. The girls (and boys) have ventured over to London and are suitably clothed in multi layered ensembles. As was mentioned on the webinar the mix and match possibilities with these dolls make them very applealing. For me it was the make dolls who were most intriguing especially Kyu in his delicious green parker jacket!

Yes I am rather enamoured of Tulabelle. I think her 'look' rather fills a gap in the current 16" doll range and I think her backstory rather fun too :)

I didn't sign up for the W Club this year, because nothing really sent me into orbit, and (eventually) I can get what I need on the secondary market.

I think Tulabelle's clothes are going to kick butt!
