I got this orange hair Maddie Mod on ebay. I don't know if she is supposed to be a red head and turned orange? There are more on ebay, but you have to take a blond haired one. I now have too many blond haired Maddies. I should sell the extra one, but this one her lip is a mistake. I don't know if that makes her more or less valuable, but I have the doll and everything. I found out I can do a 30 day auction on a buy now, but I can't list her for a while until all those others get sold by this dealer. The problem with orange hair maddie, I don't have a outfit that will work with that hair. Maddie needs kind of dated clothes. I could dress her in orange barbie clothes, or maybe green, but I can't think of what to do right now. I picked up a bunch of cheap dolls at the nancy jo show at the same time. All the barbie types were one dollar. I got two Durham charly dolls, one mego blond maddie, one doll that could be modern midge but she has brown hair, closed lips, I only got midge for the dress she was wearing. I can't think of how to dress them, I have to inspired and I am too over pressed, so anyway, there is an orange hair maddie mod that exists. But, I definitely want to start reducing the collection. I have less desirable ones packed away for kids to play with. If the dolls are not worthy of good storage, I have more space for them, but if they need quality storage it is a problem.

Thanks I would love to see her. I did find some other orange hair Maddie Mods on ebay, but it looked like they had hair cuts or else some of the dolls had bad hair cuts to begin with. These dolls were out of box and played with. So, far orange hair is the hardest hair color to find. Blond is most common and the second most common is brown.

I had her and still have her head on a standard leg Barbie body from 1966/1967. She was a childhood doll. I'll see if I can find her for a photo.

I just looked this up, Julia is a nurse character doll, made by Mattel based on a tv show starring Diahann Carroll as Nurse Julia. She is expensive, at least the ones in which the brown hair turned orange, are more sought after due to this unusual color change. I don't know if they meant to give Maddie orange hair, because she was not a boldly different kind of doll, so she may have been meant to be the red head, but the color they picked either changed due to time or was always a bit off. Unfortunately, I can find very little information on Maddie and I can't even confirm if there was a red head. But, there is a brown hair, who did not have hair that turned, so she is more likely supposted to be the red head.

That would work, I think, I have to look at the clothes, but it takes so many hours if I even start to do the clothes. I can't do it on a work day. I just know the pink she came in makes her look terrible. I wonder if her hair changed color like Julia? Julia is a Barbie type whos hair was brown and turned orange.

Difficult colour indeed. Perhaps this is helpful? A shade of blue combined with some white, perhaps..?

I added a quick photo, not mine, but so you can see this hair. It is hard to find clothes that fit this color hair. It's not a tropical orange, but a deep orange.

I did not take a photo, because of not deciding what she should wear. I think white would work,  have a kind of bridal gown, but it more modern, but it could work, but just look at item number, oh it's gone now, but I wil get around to posting it.
