Hi Lilly, sorry I've been away for some days. I have the tutorial for the monitor shooting ready, Now I don't know where to upload it, hahaha! It's not about sewing so I was thinking about opening a new group for this kind of tutorials. What do you think?
Ha, ha, ha! you're right about that!! Hey, about the monitor photo shooting. Have you ever heard of blended exposures in Phtoshop? You don't need too much lighting, a couple of desk lamps in the correct position and a tripod is all it takes.
Hi Lilly and thank you for the lovely warm welcome :) I only just got back into enjoying dolls and sewing for my dolls and am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful things everyone has been making and hopefully sharing a few things I make as well.
That would be great! I love Barbies, despite I don't properly collect them (but I still some at my parents house, mostly Generation Girl). Your website is very cool and your scenarios/dioramas rock! Right now I'm working on a 4 in 1 diorama so I can take better photos with a different background.
I've checked out some of the fabrics websites and some of them don't deliver to Spain but I've found one that does, but shipping costs 14 €, so I'll ask my sister in law, who does patchwork, if she wants anything so we can share shipping costs .
It would be great to have an experienced doll collector to chat with. Here I have nobody to talk about dolls with! My boyfriend helps me a lot with the crafting, searches for ideas on the internet and helps me deciding which doll will I buy next, so I can't complaint, but it's not the same you know?
Thanks Lilly, that's very kind of you. Truth is that I'm very chatty, also in real-life.
"Rastro" is some kind of second-hand market. There's one that's very popular in a town that's 15min by car from where I live, but haven't gone yet because I've spent my sundays going to the beach or sleeping until late
I had a similar idea for the duvet: I wanted to sew two pieces of fabric with a piece of cotton padding between them and then add a bias around it. For the fitted sheet I thought of glueing some fabric to the sponge I'll use as a mattress. Yay, I'm dying to find the perfect fabric and start with this!
Your spanish seems to be pretty good, no mistakes in that sentence :)
I wanted to do that, go to the fabric store and buy some remnants/sale fabrics, but they told me that they didn't have any (but for me it sounded like they didn't want to gave them to me). Furthermore, in one of the shops the cheapest fabrics costed 16 € (I didn't asked for the most expensive ones) so I thought that maybe buying them on-line would be cheaper. I''ve got the feeling that in this town shop owners take advantage of the fact that we're 1h by car from Valencia and put higher prizes because "we don't have alternatives" (that's why I buy most things on-line, they're much cheaper)
My plan B is to go to the "rastro" and buy a couple of dresses that look fine and use them for my dolls. I also have a pair of jeans waiting to be recycled in a doll backpack, but I need a lighter fabric to sew a doll duvet and some pillows for a bed I'm making.
Thanks anyway for answering my message and sorry for being so chatty
As I know that you live in Spain, I need to ask you a question: have you ever bought fabrics on-line? I've checked out some local stores but the prizes are crazy!!! So, I'm looking for alternatives on the Internet. Any recomendations?
